So you say you are bored

Well, news flash for you, if you are bored it is probably your own fault. When you made the character you are playing did you actually write a background? Well if so, that is the first step down. While it is not necessary to have a huge in depth background, having at least something provides the basis with which to build a character. The second important step is goals. Thats right goals. If you didnt choose some when you made your character you need to go back to the drawing board.

Goals, they keep you active at game and give you something to do instead of standing around for a few hours every couple weeks and complaining about a lack of storylines. Yeah, storylines are your department as the player. When you make a character you need to breathe life in him by giving his life a purpose. Something to shoot for. A good way to set this up is split goals into long-term and short-term, you can even split long-term goals into long-term and never-gonna-happen goals.

Now to choose your goals, for the short term ones choose goals that can be accomplished within a couple months. This gives your character something to do at games that should keep you easily busy. Goals can be as simple as gain the Princes confidence or identify different coteries. Sometimes it is a good idea to link the short-term and long-term goals together. Remember when choosing the long-term ones that you do not need to pick ones you can even possibly accomplish. Find something your character desires and go after it. This gives you a starting point. Then when you get to a game pick one to three goals that you plan on accomplishing that night. That way you have something to do. For example, when I have taken Corin to games in Los Angeles my goals have usually been: arrange a meeting with kindred X, try to form contacts with local kindred, and to seek acknowledgement from the Prince. Its simple! So the next time you start complaining to someone how bored you are at a game ask yourself, why is your character there and what goals are they trying to accomplish tonight.

Something walking the streets

I do not know if any of you have noticed but seems like the streets of downtown have gotten cleaner in a sense. Some of the homeless people I used to chat with every few nights or so have turned up missing. I have not heard anything on the news yet but of course why would most people care about some bums vanishing. Something seems up. Maybe someone is being a little indiscrete with their appetite or what not but whoever it is better be careful before they get us all in trouble. -- Harold

The situation as I see it

Seems like lots of changes have been going on lately. Plenty of political upheaval has surrounded Riverside of late and some people may not be as in on the undercurrent as others. If you havent noticed the Imperium of San Diego has sprung to life again with the fall of the Los Angeles Imperium and now they have decided to stake their claim on San Bernardino. Seems like some people missed the part where the previous Prince had seceded from the Los Angeles Imperium and called himself Prince instead of Duke.

I also notice that peoples memories are a little short and forgot that they had given their domain to St. Clair. Can an Imperium exist under another Imperium? I guess so considering Walkers latest actions. Once again he has stretched forth his hands but this time he has done so to surround Riverside County. If this does not make you nervous fellow kindred, well you must be stupid or know something I do not.

Now instead of a prince of San Bernardino we have a duke. It all seemed to have happened at a shindig I missed, this Toreador Salon. I guess my art is not as distinguished as others. Now that Mr. Walker has his grubby little hands on San Bernardino, the largest county in the U.S. I wonder where he will reach for next.
