This game is fun! How fun? Sooooooo fun! It may seem that the racing genre is worn out by so many lackluster efforts, but Space Race revives the cart racing game by introducing great graphics sound effects and simply fun levels. You could play as many of the regular Looney Tunes characters, each with a bunch of notable catch phrases. The idea is to race around tracks in outer space on little flying carts. Along the way, you pick up items, such as bombs, spring-loaded boxing gloves and disintegrating guns. That's the game. Go around and zap somebody! When you win races, you get Acme tokens that could later be used to uncover hidden tracks and characters, as well as some other special bonuses. So far, I've uncovered only 2 hidden characters (Marvin and Porky), but I'm convinced there are others. There have to be, because I was racing against Taz and Granny, yet I can't select them?yet. The graphics for this game are great. It's as close to hand drawn cartoons as you can get without actually hand drawing them. Everything is so nice and animated very well. What's amazing is that you're technically 2-D characters racing in a 3-D world. Pretty cool! This game also has a 4-player mode, to keep interest long after you've earned all the Acme tokens. Combined with the amazing sound, graphics and cache of racing with the Warner Bros. characters, this game is the best cart racer to come along in a while. If you have a Dreamcast, go get it now. I mean NOW!
