Since the arrival of known guitarist such as Hillary (Search), Samad and Man Kidal (Lefthanded) and Addy (Cradle) in the music scene, most new, upcoming guitarist tried their hand in playing in faster and 'fresher' ways. Most guitarist find it hard to set their mark in the scene and come up with quality compositions and creation, especially today when high decibles are the norm.

Singapore-born guitarist Malex, however brings back the glorious 80s rock era where musical intergrity and complexity has a place. His blazing but delicate technique and versatility have earned him the label 'hottest rock guitarist' in South East Asia.

At the tender age of 17, Malex made his first step into the music scene by recording an album with the group ACES, which, through his contribution, made their name as one of the best rock groups of the time (late 1980s). The ACES debut album became a great hit in South East Asia, especially Indonesia, reaching gold platinum level there. ACES were invited by Indonesian promoters to tour Indonesia in over 20 main locations. Despite grat success with ACES, Malex was dissatisfied with his guitar skills, resulting in him pursuing the art of guitar mastery overseas.

In 2000, Malex performed in Rentak Asia, the biggest 2-day rock festival ever held in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Rentak Asia was where Malex had big opportunity of playing among the best guitar masters such as Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Jestrul Tull and Grasshopper.

Euphoria, Malex's long awaited album, combines classical elements with the sounds of old school rock. Fast-paced yet melodious, Malex draws on his main influence Yngwie Malmsteen (during Rising Force period), while maintaning his fascinating signature style. He deliberately chose Batu Giling as his record label from the many that sought to add him to their roster due to artistic freedom, which is essential to accomodate his diverse musical direction.
The band behind Euphoria was selected under stringent criteria. Only experienced and prolific session musicians made the cut. Among the tight group is bass-player Sham, with 20 years' experience in the club circuit in Malaysia and Singapore. To up the old school rock ante for Euphoria, Alif was chosen as the vocalist. Alif's involvement in the Bumiputra Rockers (BPR), one of the most popular and experienced rock bands in Malaysia, was well known and praised. The final piece to the puzzle was Ain, a talented drum sessionist from legendary underground group, Tandus ( replaced by Rafee from Inspirasi ). Responsible for the progressive beat and tempo, he injects a fresh and distinct flavor to Euphoria, making it unique from the average 'old-school rock' album.
