Grand Strategy III: Revisionist War - Naval action off the Songea Coast

Following Russia's declaration of war on the Confederate States, a Red Fleet squadron led by the Battleship Democracy moved along the Songea coast toward Confederate waters. As the squadron approached the border line on the morning of 10th August, Confederate Marine Corps torpedo and divebombers attacked it, sinking a number of minor vessels, with some American planes being shot down by I-16s of 5th Fighter Regiment. Another strike was launched the following day after the squadron had passed the southern port of Mobile, inflicting further losses.

Finally, as the squadron passed south of Winston-Salem that afternoon, it was intercepted by 7th Fleet. Democracy and the heavy cruiser Kirov were sunk by the Confederate Navy, which itself took light losses.
