The Qur'an Confirms
The Biblical Narrative

Many Muslims say that the writtings of the Bible no longer contain the
Truth from God, but have been twisted and corrupted by men,
so the truth of these writings has been lost.

However, the Qur'an states clearly The Torah, the Prophets and the Gospel
are not corrupted, not twisted and are the Word of God.

The Qur'an Supports The Bible

According to the Qur'an all of the writtings within the Bible are under God's protection. In fact the Qur'an declares again and again that the Bible is God's Word, and that He has preserved this Word. Indeed the Qur'an is very specific in it's defense of the validity, and eternal nature and truth of the Bible.

In regard to the Torah, the Qur'an states;
"We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of messengers," (Sura 2:87).

In regard to the Psalms and the Prophets it states;
"We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms," (Sura 4:163).

The Qur'an states clearly that the Gospel is from God;
"It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong)," (Sura 3:3).

And even more interesting in this matter is the statement of the Qur'an that these writtings are protected by God,
"Rejected were the messengers before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until Our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Already hast thou received some account of those messengers," (Sura 6:34).

"The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfillment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all," (Sura 6:115).

"For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the Hereafter; no change can there be in the words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme felicity," (Sura 10:64).

So then the Torah, the Gospels , and the Prophets are all from God, which Islam then claims "have been corrupted." While at the same time emploring us to follow the Qur'an and Allah.

Yet Islam does not, trust that the Qur'an speaks truthfully. For Islam denies these writtings which according to it's own claim are in the only uncorrupted book of truth from Allah.

Whereas the Qur'an states all of God's Words are protected.
"there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah" (Sura 6:34).
"None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all" (Sura 6:34; 10:64).

Therefore We Conclude

That the One True God, Creator of All the Universe and Redeemer of all has already stated before the Qur'an, before Muhammad, and before Islam;

Mat 3:17 "and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Mat 24:5 "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray."

Joh 8:12 "Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Joh 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me."

All of which are confirmed as truth from God by sura 6:34; and 10:64, and so it is that Muslims must deny their prophet and the Qur'an in order to deny the Biblical narrative and Jesus.

Which leaves us all with the question, "Is this contention of Islam a solid foundation of Truth or a doubleminded denial of Muhammad and the Qur'an?

"Their Own Torah."

But why do they come to thee for decision, when they have (their own) Torah before them?- Therein is the (plain) command of Allah: Surah 5.43

The Torah of Old Testament, is claimed to be the "command of Allah."

And in their footsteps we sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Torah that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light. And confirmation of the Torah that had come before him: Surah 5.46

So the Torah (the law), the Jewish Scriptures, and the gospel of Jesus are all truth from Allah according to the Quran, and the Quran simply claims to confirm these prior Scriptures.

Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) Prophets from their Lord: We make no diffrence (sic) between one and another of them:" Surah 2.136

"We make no difference between one or another of them:" But Islam holds Muhammad to be the Greatest Prophet, in direct opposition to the Qur'an. So then in this Islam is in violation of the Qur'an, as it claims we Chrisitans are in regard to Jesus. Another double standard in which Islam denies its own "infallible scripture".

To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, Surah 5.48

Allah! There is no god but He,- the living, the Self-Subsisting, the Supporter of all. It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Torah (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus). Surah 3. 2-3

They said, "O our people! We have heard a Book revealed after Moses, confirming what came before it": Surah 46.30

Everywhere we look in the Qur'an we find that the Torah, Pentatuch, Psalms and Prophets of the Old Testament are stated to be the Word of Allah, as is the New Testament itself, which acording to the Qur'an are infallibly protected by Allah. Therefore to state that these are not divine and truthful is to deny the Qur'an and Muhammad.

Thus in making this claim of corruption and tampering Islam is today actually denying that which Islam claims to be true.

Al-Baqarah Surah 2:79

Now some will undoubtedly say that sura 2: 79 proves that the Bible is corupted and therefore un trustworthy.

But, Sura. 2: 79 does not prove the corruption of the Bible: On the face of it the unknowing will leap upon this also, so let us place this back into context:

"Can you (O men of faith) still earnestly desire that they (the Jews) will believe in you? And verily a party (fariq) among them hear the Word of God, then they pervert it knowingly after they have understood it. And when they meet the believers they say, ‘We believe,’ but when they meet each other in private they say, ‘Why do you tell them what God has revealed to you (in the Torah), that they may engage you in argument about it before their God? What do you not understand?’ Do they not know that God knows what they conceal and what they make public? Among them are unlettered folk who know the Scripture not except from hearsay. THEY BUT GUESS." Sura. 2:75-78

"So woe to those who write the Book with their hands, and then say, ‘This is from Allah,’ that they may sell it for a little price. So woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for their earnings." Sura. 2:79

Once the passage is read in its proper context, we discover that it is not speaking of Jews and Christians corrupting their Holy Book, but rather unlettered Jews who were ignorant of the content of the scriptures who falsified their own revelation for gain.

Fact of the Quran

Nowhere does the Qur'an distinguish between the Zabur and the Biblical Psalms of David, or between the Taurat and the Pentateuch, or between the Injil and the New Testament. It never advocates that the original books of the Prophets associated with Moses, David and Jesus have ceased to exist or been textually distorted. The Qur'an throughout presumes that the books to which it refers remain extant and in the possession of the Jews and Christians.

"there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Sura 6: 34
"None can change His words:" Sura 10: 64

For Islam and Muslims to claim that any of the earlier scriptures have been altered or tampered with by men in any manner is to deny the Qur'an, and Muhammad, through whom the revelation is claimed, and to deny "Allah" from whom the revelation is said to have been sent.

So the conclusion must be as others have stated, "They corrupt the word" means only that "they alter or change its meaning." For no one is able to change even a single word from any Book of God. Therefore the meaning is that they interpret the word wrongly. Otherwise Islam continues to deny it's Book, its prophet and its claimed revealed truth.

So once again I am left with the question is this contention of Islam a solid foundation of Truth or a doubleminded denial of Muhammad and the Qur'an?
