OPENING PRAYER
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
Psalms 19:14
THE TRUTH
|

O Lord, give me a poem
That will shake men's hearts
And show to them the destinies
When soul and body parts.
A poem to wake that sluggard, Lord,
And who-so-ever will,
To truth and everlasting life
And life's most lasting thrill.

Why must men go on alone
And abide with half Thy word,
When truth is free to everyone
Who has Thy fullness heard.
Some men live with forms of Thee,
And still Thy fullness shun,
And all along themselves deceive
To enjoy their worldly fun.

It seems that some would serve Thee, Lord,
And serve this world too.
And tho' they cannot serve two Masters
This they try to do.
Some worship others, Lord,
And say to them their prayers,
But I know it is only Thee
Who casts away their cares.

I thank Thee that I know Thee,
As Lord of the Heavenly Host.
May I ever praise and serve Thee
For the blessed Holy Ghost.
May I use my life for You,
While I am yet a youth,
And may I ever thankful be
That I have found the truth.
