Who cross life's turbulent streams?
Do waters swiftly surge around you
As your light to others beams?
Many lives must have a stepping stone
If they survive the fight for life --
Just a little stone to lift them
From the cold wters of sin and strife.
Be proud if you're a stepping stone
To the lasting throne of grace.
The chief cornerstone awaits you
For a gentle look upon your face.

And this is to the stumbling stone
Who blocks the path of those
Who choose to walk in darkness
And know not whre anyone goes,
Are you a stumblng stone today,
One who never lends a hand
To help the one who's down and out
And can Neither walk nor stand?

Are you the one they stumble over;
Do you block the path to light?
Do you always clutter up the highway
For those who seek what's right?
I pray you're not a stumbling stone,
But a stepping stone for Christ
And one who does his job really well
Though it's not the best nor highest.
So let's be stepping stones today
And do every little thing
To help the lost cross life's swift river
To the side where Angels sing.
