Souls are going to hell right now --
Maybe friends of yours or mine,
Yet you sit there idly by
And seem to think it's fine.
I don't care who the person is
Or what his race may be,
When I know he may go
To hell to burn eternally.

Shouldn't we all now think awhile,
Be thinking of the lost,
When Jesus suffered, bled,
And died to pay that awful cost?
Where are those tears that used to flow
When thinking of an unsaved friend?
Could it be that they are dried
Because on sin you depend?

Think it over in your heart
And apply it to yourself.
Is your Bible lying now
At home upon a dusty shelf?
Yes, you're the one this poem's about,
Not your neighbor there;
Tho' he may not be saved just now,
I'm sure that he would care,
If he knew you'd go to hell
And could believe it in his heart,
He'd be praying now for you,
Just trying to do his part.

And you say that you're a Christian,
An example to the other,
Yet you do not love your neighbor
Or treat him like a brother.
If I followed some examples,
I don't think I'd make it through,
And while we're on the subject,
What kind of example are you?

This poem may not do very much
To bring you to your senses,
But don't be here after Jesus comes,
Or you'll suffer the consequences.
So now I leave it all with you;
The choice is yours alone,
If you really want a home above,
You'll be the cornerstone.
