Amparito’s house.
Rogelio talked to his father in-law and the old man wasn’t satisfied with the way the
son in-law’s handling his business. Amparito asked him if what he told her father was
true that he’ll be staying at the house because he didn’t tell anything to the
in-law. He didn’t say anything. Later, Alfredo pays a visit to their mother and she
told him of the new development with his father. He was glad that mom didn’t tell
anything to grandpa. Humberto on the other hand, was angry and told her to divorce his
father. Amparito was happy that her husband came back and believed that he will be with
her again in no time. She went to see her daughter and told her what happened. She also
asked about her handsome son in-law. When she was told that he’s going to see someone
concerning his depression, she told her daughter to be careful because a man doesn’t
see a psychiatrist when he’s depressed but a woman. Carlota told her mother this is
not the old days. Nowadays, people see these psychologists the same way they see a
physician. Ampa told her daughter there’s no way she’s going to lie on a couch
and tell a total stranger about her intimate feelings and pay him money for it.
Mauricio’s house. Desiree called Mauricio and asked him ‘is Juana the girl you
told me about who is pregnant with your child?’ Mauricio was rendered speechless by
her question. He told her it is not so and where did she get such an outrageous idea? When
she persisted with her theory, he changed the subject. He started to ask her opinion about
the negotiations between them and representatives from Miami. But she tried to cut in
while he’s still speaking. She sounded dissatisfied that he wouldn’t answer her
question and prove her assumption to be true. He told her that there are a lot of things
on his mind at the moment what with the ongoing negotiations and he has no time to talk
about insignificant things with her. But she persisted with her question whether Juana is
the woman carrying his child and so he denied it. After talking to her, Mauricio was on
his way upstairs to get a good night’s sleep when he remembered that his wife is
there and he doesn’t have the energy for another confrontation and went back down
into his office. He called his good old pal Dr. Ricardo and told him that Juana is 3
months gone now with her pregnancy and is there anything she should be doing such as going
for an exam and so on. Ricardo told him that she should definitely go for a check-up and
take some prenatal multivitamins for her baby. He recommended a friend of his Dr. Fernando
Lopez who is a very good ob/gyn. While Mauricio was writing down the name of the doc.,
Carlota came in and seemed very interested with what Mauricio was doing. After the call,
she asked him who Fernando is. He told her he is a specialist and she asked him in what
field of specialization. He lied to her and told her that the guy is a psychiatrist and
specializes in depression. She was surprised that he had such a problem and she
doesn’t know about it. She told him she’ll be there for him 100% and will
accompany him on his visit to the doctor. He doesn’t know what to say to that. Later,
when they were together in their bed he thought to himself that he’d lied to her not
because he wanted to but to avoid another confrontation. She turned towards him in her
sleep and put her arm on his chest. This made him think about the time when he was with
Juana in a secluded cabin in the mountain when he woke up to see her sleeping beside him
and his hand on her belly as if holding his baby.
Restaurant. After she ordered their dinner she asked if he wants to order the wine but he
told her she can order it and its fine with him. He asked her if he passed her test and
she acted as if she doesn’t know what he’s saying. He told her to tell him the
truth and she said you passed. She asked the men she’s interested to know better to
go for dinner so that she can get to know them. She told him after the incident in the
lift, she wants to get to know him better. He asked her what incident because she
initially refused to believe anything happened in the lift. She told him he’s
vengeful but he smiled. He asked her again if she thought about him when she’s alone
and was told no. he was a bit disappointed but confessed that she was always on his mind.
He also told her they should be themselves and should not pretend if they really want to
get to know each other. She agrees and when the receipt came she offered to pay and he was
ok with it which surprised her because all the males she goes out with will fight with her
to pay the bill to boost their flagging egos but not Mano. He told her as she wanted
everything to be equal between man and woman, she should pay because she’s the one
who asked him out. She was very pleased with him and the direction their relationship is
going.
Juana’s house. Juana was all alone in her house and enjoying it. While lying on the
sofa she told herself that she should stop thinking of Mauricio. She wanted so much to
prove to her family that she has matured and now look at her, still mooning over a married
man who can never be hers. Then her abuela came in and asked her if she’s all alone
in the house. Juana showed her the note left by Manolito. They sat down together while her
gran (azucena) did some stitching. Gran wasn’t her usual talkative self and Juana
knows that she was still angry at her for not coming home last night. She told gran that
nothing happened last night and she was all right. Gran told her she doesn’t trust
Mauricio and he wants something from Juana. Juana tried to defend him, saying that he just
wanted to take care of her and protect her and was being really nice. Gran doesn’t
agree and told her there is no man who would do something without getting anything in
return. Juana looked a bit sad hearing that because there is a ring of truth to it. There
was someone at the door and Juana opened it to see her friend Brandy who wants to talk to
her. To get some privacy, they went into Juana’s photo processing room. Brandy told
her about Desiree questioning her about Juana. Brandy called her acidic woman. But Juana
said she’s more like a snake. They both laugh and agreed. Desiree looks like a
venomous snake slithering when she walks. Brandy also told her that Desiree wanted to know
whether Juana was artificially inseminated. Juana was shocked to hear that and wondered
how Desiree knew about it. She asked her friend whether it was her who spilled the beans
but Brandy told her ‘would I do that to my best friend.’ Juana asked Brandy
whether it might be Mauricio who told her about it. Then she said it couldn’t be
because he is a very serious man who doesn’t gossip about his employees. But she
would be really hurt if it was him. Juana also told Brandy she doesn’t understand why
Desiree disliked her from the first day she started working there. First she thought
Desiree was looking after her best friend’s interest, but she’s too intense.
Downstairs, Ana came in late and her mother looked displeased. Ana told her that she
doesn’t have to explain anything to her mom because she old enough but she will tell
her mom anyway because she knew her mother very well. Gran told her she doesn’t have
to explain if she doesn’t want to. So Ana asked about her daughter and was told that
she was with Brandy in the processing room. Brandy and Juana came down and gran asked what
is so important that they have to talked so late in the night when they should have said
whatever they wanted last night when Juana was at Brandy’s house, if indeed she was
there. Brandy played along even though she doesn’t have a clue. Gran said good
friends are suppose to guide their mates rather than covering for them. Brandy looked
contrite. Brandy was on her way out of the house and doing some touch-ups in front of
Juana’s house. Enriqueta send Manolito to his house. She told him that she enjoyed
the evening and he told her he was glad he passed her test. He looked into her eyes and
leaned forward slowly to kiss her. She leaned into him and was about to kiss him when she
happened to look at the rearview mirror and saw Brandy. The moment was lost as she tried
to get rid of Mano as quickly as possible before Brandy saw the both of them together and
spread the news at the office. When Mano was out, she stepped on the lever and was gone in
a matter of a few seconds. Brandy looked up from what she’s doing and saw the car.
She was really looking at Mano who looked quite dashing. She told him the car looked like
the one owned by Enriqueta and Mano told her it was his friend. She asked him where
he’s been and he told her he went out but didn’t elaborate. While he was doing
his repair on the electrical appliances, he thought about the special moment when
Enriqueta told him she would like to know him better hence the invitation to dinner. He
smiled to himself thinking about it. The next morning, Mano asked his sis where is she
going and she told him she is answerable to no one and he told her he just doesn’t
want her to go and see Mauricio.
David and Carlos’s apartment. David asked him about his relationship with the older
women and Carlos was pissed off and told him you are obsessed with my relationship with
her while she is obsessed with the age difference. He told David that their relationship
is just fine. David told him to be careful because she doesn’t want Carlos to know
about her family and friends. To his thinking, she must be hiding something. David told
him she might have a husband at home.
Rogelio/ Desiree’s apartment. Desiree was eating her dinner alone and thinking that
Mauricio is such a child if he thinks that she’s gonna believe everything he said. He
has just proven her theory when he was silent for a few moments after hearing what she has
to say. Then he started to deny it. Rogelio came to her and hold her tightly and said that
he’s destroyed and he needed her tonight. Later he asked her the reason for taking
showers the moment they’re finished. She told him she wanted to smell nice. And he
totally believed that crap. (How pathetic!) She told him that she needed to sleep and
showed him out the door. The next morning, she had her breakfast and full of venom,
planned her upcoming confrontation with Juana and subsequently destroy her enemy. As she
said last night after Rogelio was gone, Mauricio is HERS and hers alone and no one will
come between them, not even Rogelio.
Mauricio’s office. The gang arrived early for a change and was surprised when
Enriqueta comes in with a big smile on her face and greeted everyone and praised them for
coming early. The gang comes to the conclusion that something really nice must have
happened for her to smile like that. A few minutes later Mauricio arrived and he was also
surprised to see them. He was told that Enriqueta has already arrived and asked Ines to
inform him when Desiree arrives. Brandy and Juana arrived and Juana was told that
Enriqueta was looking for her. She went quickly to her room and was hit by a magazine
thrown by Enriqueta who was angry that the room was in a mess. She thought Juana was a
responsible girl etc., so why is the room in a mess?. How was she going to be productive
when she can’t do anything in this room? She didn’t give Juana a chance to
defend herself. A few moments later, Desiree arrives and Ines ran quickly and called
Mauricio to inform him of her arrival. Ines told her Mauricio wants to see her but before
she can give an excuse, Mauricio opened his door and told her to come in. After she sat
down, Mauricio told her they are going to continue what they discussed on the phone.
