| AT THE OFFICE: Juana came looking for
Brandy and her uncle but David dragged her away into the room where she works, and started
grilling her about the article without giving her a chance to explain or to defends
herself . He acted as if he’s the wounded party in this situation. He doesn’t
think about what she might be going through right now after being exposed about a private
matter in such a manner. David told her he thought she was smart, sensitive and dignified.
Now he said he was confused, doesn’t know what to believe. He asked her ‘how
about my pride and my dignity?.’ ‘I made a very big mistake in falling in love
with you’. Juana told him it is not fair to accuse her without giving her a chance to
explain. He went on ranting about how he gave her his heart, his soul. He wanted to
protect her and be there for her (yeah, sure) and wait till she feels the same for him. He
said this is all rubbish. That she lied to him on purpose. David said how could she be
pregnant? He wants to know who the father is. David showed Juana the tabloid called
I.A.L.A. which showed her picture on the front cover. She admitted that she’s
pregnant. Hearing this, David called her a liar. She told him if he tried to recall their
conversations, she never lied to him, she only told him that her problem was personal. He
told her she only cares about herself and no one else. He was trying to help her when she
needed a friend and this is how she repays. Right now he doesn’t know her anymore and
he doesn’t care. He told her it might be difficult to forget her but can she imagine
what he’s feeling right now? Why did she have to be so secretive about it? Juana told
him again that she didn’t lie but he’s not listening to her. He told her he
wanted to protect her as if she were a species that is going to be extinct. He thought she
was unique and one of a kind. But he told her she was just the same as any other women. He
told her he won’t wait for her anymore and left her. After he left, she looked at the
paper and thought that Alfredo must have seen it and that is the reason he told her of the
company’s policy. If he has seen it, then Mauricio must have seen it too. Then she
started to feel nervous. She would have to tell Mauricio anyway when her stomach stared to
get big and she’s only on a one month probation. She decided to tell Mauricio the
truth and went to look for him. She gave the paper back to Ines. After Juana went in Ines
looked at the front page of the paper and cannot believe the news. In her opinion, no one
can be pregnant and still remains a virgin. The receptionist and the rest of the gang were
introduced to Manuel by Brandy. Santa Maria ! Chico Bonito! (Good Lord ! What a handsome
guy!) Shiva and LaBibi cannot believe they are looking at a Very Finnnne piece of male
specimen. Bibi put her shades on her head and had an eyeful. Her eyes going up and down
Manuel. She was instantly attracted to him. Manuel introduced himself as Juana’s
uncle. Brandy asked him what happened in the lift and he told her about Enriqueta. She
couldn’t believe that Enriqueta was claustrophobic and showed some feelings. Then she
went on to explain that Enriqueta is like a commander and she would be the first in the
front lines not needing anyone’s protection. Manuel said she was the commander and he
was the soldier. Before he left, Manuel asked Brandy if he is making a mistake by coming
here and making it more difficult for Juana. Brandy told him no and that he is the best
uncle there is and if he would like to become her uncle as well. He told her as she is
like Juana’s sister, then she is his niece. When he left, the receptionist can’t
stop looking at him and licked her lips. She told Brandy she’s very attracted to him.
ENRIQUETA’S OFFICE: She told Armando there is no reason why she should explain her actions to him. ( the scene in the elevator) She told him there is nothing between them that would warrant such an explanation, other than that they are office mates and nothing more. Armando looks incredulous at hearing this. He couldn’t believe that she thought there was nothing between them. They had a relationship and even though it’s in the past, and she rebuffed his attention after their disagreement / fight about the roles of women and chauvinistic males, he still thinks that he has a right to hear her explanation on her shocking behaviour. She thought otherwise. He went out of her office in an explosive mood. Enriqueta told herself to calm down and that nothing happened and she won’t be seeing him (Manuel) again and now that she is in her surroundings, she feels very confident. Brandy entered and told her someone wants to see her and surprise, surprise it’s Manuel. She thought that he came to see and told Brandy that she won’t see anyone without an appointment. She asked him if he had an appointment with her and when he answered in the negative she told him to go and next time made an appointment before coming. Brandy told her he is Juana’s uncle and he was there to see Juana’s superior. After he told her Juana’s merits, and even though she is a minor, their whole family supports her decision to work there. When Manuel started to talk about what happened in the lift, she told him nothing happened between them and she doesn’t know what he’s talking about. She called him Lionel instead of Manuel and how she understands what Juana is going through because she herself is a career woman and told him how she had to sacrifice her love life for her career. She can see the same qualities in Juana. Manuel walked to her chair and leaned down and told her he understood. She told him what he thinks happened in the lift was his imagination and nothing else. He cannot believe she would deny what happened. He told her she grabbed him and kissed him. She said if he is a true gentleman, he would not repeat the incident to anyone. He wanted to talk about it but she left and told him to stay and do whatever he wants in her room because she’s going out. He told himself, that he’s left standing like an idiot because of an incredible and fantastic kiss. MAURICIO’S HOUSE: After Alfredo’s call, Carlota and her mother celebrated on their success in driven away women who prey on their husbands. LOUNGE: After Brandy left Manuel, David dragged her into the lounge and asked her why she didn’t tell him about Juana’s pregnancy. She thought to herself that how could she when she hasn’t even told him of her love for him. ALFREDO’S OFFICE: He called Carlota and told her how he made Juana miserable with the questions he put to her. Carlota said he should have recorded her expressions on a camcorder. He told her next time, he would. He also told her he laid a trap and Juana is going to be sorry. She can’t hide her pregnancy when her belly will be protruding. Amparito was there and listening to how her son takes care of his sister’s problems. Rogelio entered and told his son to get out. Desiree was angry with him. He told her he was crazy for her. She acted innocent and he told her not to act stupid because she is not that innocent and she is surely aware of his feelings for her. She told him she appreciated what he did for her and he told her to repay him. Rogelio said he saw the way she looked at Mauricio and how she became weak-kneed whenever he is near. Desiree told him she likes Mauricio but because he is her friends’ husband, she just looked at him from afar. Rogelio asks how about him? And she asks him how long is he going to keep her in that room and he replied as long as it takes. MAURICIO’S OFFICE: Mauricio asked Ines if she knows whether Juana is working today and if she is, then to look for her because he wants to see her. Suddenly Armando barged in while Mauricio was giving the orders to Ines. Armando if very angry with Enriqueta and he wants to tell Mauricio what happened in the lift. He told Mauricio that she gave him the cold shoulder while she was hugging some guy she barely knew in an elevator. Mauricio can’t understand what the problem is. To him it’s clear that these two can’t be together because one is a male chauvinist and the other is a feminist and he told Armando so. They are like oil and water. Armando told him that when he gave her flowers as an apology, she gave each to all the girls working there. It hurts his pride. To regain his dignity, he told Mauricio that a woman who can’t even made a sandwich is not worthy of him. He still can’t believe that she was hugging a man when the lift opened. When he didn’t get the support he wants from Mauricio, he left. Juana entered later and she was nervous as she asked him if he’d heard the news. Mauricio wants her to explain and she started crying. He comes close to her and helped her onto a seat. He asked her to explain what happened. She told him that she is pregnant and that she’s very sorry she lied. He looked happy and smiled. But when Juana looked up, he changed his facial expression. But he still looked content. She told him that even though she is pregnant, she is still a virgin. She knows it’s impossible but it happened to her. That she didn’t ask for this to happen. He must be like others and think that she is a loose woman who sleeps on their first date and doesn’t use protection. She was sure that after hearing this, he cannot bear to look at her. He holds her hand and told her to calm down and give him a chance to say something. That he didn’t think badly of her. She also told him that her confession of love for him was true and she wasn’t lying about that. That he was the first man she falls in love with. She wants to know if he is disappointed with her because she can’t bear it if he looks at her with scorn. He put both of his hands on her face and told her to look at him and they looked at each other. He told her that he is her friend and he would be there for her and gave her his handkerchief to dry her tears because her tears were falling like rain, he told her. She asked him if he remembers the first time he lend her his hanky which she hasn’t returned yet and he called her a thief. He said this with a smile. He told her there is nothing not to like about her and that she is honest with her confessions, which makes him likes her more. He also said that because he is her friend, he will always support her, and be there for her and protects her whenever she needed it. p.s.: the summary is not exactly 100% like the drama. i may have forgotten some of the scenes.
