| De La Vega’s place: Juana took Mauricio to the storehouse to show him what she found, but nothing was there, no broken vase and no pool of blood. Mauricio said she must have been imagining things. She said she was not, shaken & puzzled; she followed Mauricio back to the house. What happened before that was Camacho (Rogelio’s driver) had put Francisco’s body in a sack and into the boot of Rogelio’s car, and Rogelio told to his driver to bury the dead man somewhere. Mauricio said to Juana he didn’t understand why she was making up stories like that, it would’ve been easier if she admitted she broke the vase. He told her to go home if her work is done. Juana couldn’t believe he said that and told him her bike conked out due to the accident and she can’t go home. Mauricio told her to call a cab and then went away. Carlota was at the gate seeing some of the guests off. Rogelio came and Carlota asked him if he had noticed Mauricio was acting strangely looking and asking for Francisco everywhere. Rogelio said he had not and told Carlota not to worry. Mauricio approached them and asked if they have seen Francisco. That annoyed Carlota and asked why he should worry so much over Francisco. Mauricio said Francisco was about to tell him something important when she interrupted. Then he went away again still looking for the man who seems to have disappeared into thin air. He recalled what Francisco had said in his study and asked himself what was it Francisco wanted to tell him that is so important. Juana met Brandy and the latter asked where she was going with her equipments, Juana said she wants to go home. Brandy said Juana can’t go as the party is not over yet. Juana saw Mauricio some distance away and she cried and told Brandy she feels awkward among these people and has to go. Desiree was standing alone and Carlota went to her and inquired where Francisco was. Desiree who was mad with her husband told Carlota that he has left the party. She said her husband is leaving her, and she didn’t tell Carlota before because Carlota has her own problem with Mauricio and the surrogate mother. What is worse said Desiree is that she had signed a document to say she will get nothing if Francisco divorces her. David bumped into Juana at the stairs to the front gate. Juana said she is going home and asked him to get her a taxi. David said a party photography should be the last person to leave. Juana said she has problems, and David offered to take her home in his car. Juana accepted. Desiree told Carlota her problems with Francisco doesn’t involve another woman, it’s just that her husband bores her. Mauricio came and said he couldn’t find Francisco anywhere. Popeye came and suggested they take a picture together. Mauricio said he had told the photographer to go home which relieves Carlota a lot since Juana could destroy her other property as well (she was thinking about the damage she has done with her bike). Perez house: Ana Maria came home; saw her mother on a chair; sewing. Ana Maria asked if Juana has come back. Azucena said no, only herself in the house. Ana Maria said she in not sure whether she should’ve allowed Juana went to the party. Azucena didn’t say anything apparently refuse to get involved in small talks. Ana Maria asked where Manuel was, Azucena said he went to send Petra home with her iron. Petra’s home: Manuel had just finished repairing whatever it was he had to repair with Petra. They came out of the house; Manuel buttoned his shirt and Petra adjusted her crumpled dress. Petra asked why he was not married yet. Manuel explained he in not the marrying kind and marriage could kill him. He kissed her forehead and sent her back into the house, thinking that Petra shouldn’t be near him. . In route to Juana’s home, David stopped at a restaurant as if to go in for something to eat. Juana said she didn’t want anything; she just wants to go home. David said he only wants to help, and continue the journey. Perez home: Manuel came home and said it’s good to see his sister and mother sitting together watching TV. Azucena said they are watching TV, but not together. Ana Maria commented that Manuel looks happy. Azucena chided maybe Manuel has successfully shown Petra how to use her clothing iron. Ana Maria said it’s not fair mother never make a fuss when Manuel goes out but raises havoc when she does the same. Azucena said a man may go out but a woman stays home. Ana Maria said that’s old thinking, nowadays men and women are at par. Azucena said ‘yes and you’ll come home again pregnant. Azucena left for her room upstairs leaving Ana Maria and Manuel, they exchanged uneasy look. A car stopped outside, they opened the door to see Juana getting out of David’s jeep. Juana said her bike broke up and David offered to take her home. David smiled to Ana Maria and said ‘Now I know where Juana got her beauty from.’ which pleases the older woman very much. Juana introduced her uncle to David; they shook hands and David said smiling ‘aah… the famous uncle’ Juana thanked David for sending her home. Ana Maria asked if Juana is not going to invite David in; David said it’s alright, Juana is tired and I’ve to go home’. David asked Juana if he can call her, ‘of course’ replied Juana, David excused himself and left. Manuel asked what happened at the party; Juana said she didn’t want to talk about it and has to go to her photo lab to develop the pictures she had taken since she has to hand them over tomorrow. De la Vega's living room: Carlota was talking to Mauricio, her father and Desiree. She said she is not happy with the problem caused by the photographer and she is sure the photos she took are going to be lousy. Rogelio agreed, and he is not happy either with Francisco for leaving his wife alone. Carlota suggested Desiree spend the night at her house. Desiree refused and Rogelio offered to take her back to her hotel. Perez home: Manuel knocked on the labs’ door and asked if he could come in. Juana said yes only if he wants to help. Juana said to her uncle, her mama probably was angry with her because she didn’t give any explanation to what had happened at the party. Her uncle assured her; that wasn’t so, her mother was only worried. Juana said the accident with her bike isn’t the worst thing that could happen to her that night. Manuel was alarmed and pressed her for explanation. Juana said she saw trances of someone being murdered like that found in the movies. In their bedroom Mauricio told Carlota he was puzzled why Francisco had left the party so suddenly, and he wondered what it was he wanted to tell him about. Carlota said it should be about the fact that he is going to divorce Desiree and leaves her penniless. In the hotel lobby, Desiree thanked Rogelio for taking her back. She asked him to wait while she inquired from the hotel receptionist is there are messages for her and got a negative reply. She then informed the girl not to put any call through to her as she is dead tired and wanted to rest. Rogelio overheard what was being said. Desiree came to him, thanked him again and kissed him on the cheek. Rogelio reminded her that she is not alone and is willing to help her anytime. She smiled and left. Rogelio called his driver and asked how things are. The driver said ‘the tree has been planted’. Then he called the receptionist and said he is Mrs. Rojas husband and wishes to leave a message for her. Morning at the Perez home: Juana was showing the pictures she had taken last night to her mother. Ana Maria asked about her appointment with Dr Pesate. Juana said all went well and she didn’t feel any pain, she didn’t know all the details as she had instructed the doctor not to explain anything to her. At the clinic the nurse was saying to Dr Michelena it’s still early to tell whether the girl is going to be pregnant. The doctor told her not to say anything. Dr Michelena went to see Dr Ricardo and the latter thanked him for taking over his duties yesterday. Dr Michelena was quiet and he was thinking about the artificial insemination he had wrongly given to Juana. In their living room Carlota reminded Mauricio to bring home the photos taken at the party last night. Mauricio said he is going to see Francisco at his hotel first as the magazine is having some problem. Carlota was surprised the magazine is having problem since Mauricio never discuss it with her. Mauricio said maybe later; gave her a kiss and he went out. In her bedroom Desiree woke up to find Francisco’s bed has not been slept in. ‘he hasn’t been home all night’ thought Desiree; disappointed. In the bushes somewhere, his driver was showing to Rogelio the spot where he had buried Francisco and assured him no one will find him there. Rogelio looked at the spot and said that’s what happened to people who refused to obey orders. ‘Now you can’t go sightseeing around Europe anymore, and I’ll have to look after your wife’. Rogelio and his driver laughed. Perez home: Juana was scrutinizing the party photos. She observed there was a photo which clearly shown blood on the floor. She thought if she shows them to ‘toxic chief’ he’ll know she wasn’t hallucinating. Manuel told her he had bought a paper and it didn’t carry anything about a murder, only about the party. He then told her not to interfere with anything that has nothing to do with her. Juana was silent but made up her mind to show the photo with the blood to Mauricio. Enriqueta’s office: Enriqueta told Armando she is worried thinking about the photographs taken by Juana, what if they don’t come out good enough? She wants everything to be perfect. She noticed Armando wasn’t paying attention and asked if he was listening. Armando said he was and repeated Enriqueta’s every word, and he said he is there to make her happy. She told Armando not to mix business with pleasure, and she asked herself why she is going out with this man. Armando said he is worried over Mauricio and Francisco and bla…bla. Enriqueta went out leaving Armando with his thought. At Juana’s school: Lily was asking Juana about the party at Mauricio’s when Brandy called to ask if Juana was mad with her for not letting her going home early last night. Juana said no. Brandy told Juana to drop by her office that evening to collect her check for the job done. Juana said she will. Lily asked what did happen at the party; Juana said strange and chaotic. Juana told her about Mauricio whom she had nicknamed ‘toxic chief’. She said ever since she met Mauricio her life is in a mess. At the hotel: Mauricio knocked and tried to open the door of the room where Francisco was staying. It was locked. Mauricio asked the cleaning lady if she has seen Francisco. She said she did not, but Desiree went out a moment ago. At Positivo: Enriqueta asked Brandy when Juana is coming. Brandy said soon, maybe she got caught up in the heavy traffic. Enriqueta said probably she live in another city, because that was what Brandy said an hour ago. Brandy said Juana rides the three-wheeler and it’s easy to get caught in traffic. Enriqueta said strange since that same bike was stranded at Mauricio’s last night. Brandy became nervous lest Enriqueta could see through her lies. Enriqueta told Brandy to inform her as soon as Juana arrives, and she left for her office. David came and sits in a chair near Brandy, before he could open his mouth Brandy angrily told him she didn’t know when Juana is coming. David told her to take it easy; he was only going to ask if Enriqueta had read his article. In the hotel lobby Desiree asked the receptionist if there’s any message for her. She gave the envelope to Desiree. Desiree read the note inside and cried. Mauricio came in time to see her crying and asked why. Desiree said Francisco has left her and went to Europe. Perez home: Manuel was minutely examining the negative of the photo taken at Mauricio’s, and he recalled the conversation he had with Juana and agreed the negative does leave some strange print. He too would like to hear what Mauricio has to say about it. At Positivo: Juana came and asked the receptionist to see Brandy. The girl told her to go in and said Brandy’s desk is where there are lots of film stars pinups on the wall. Juana went in. At the same time Mauricio was telling Armando and David it’s hard to believe Francisco had just packed and leaves for Europe. Armando asked how he knew. Mauricio said Francisco left a message with Desiree. Armando said most likely Francisco had sold his shares to other buyers and didn’t give Mauricio the option to buy first. Mauricio told Armando and David the incident last night when Francisco was about to tell him something important but was interrupted by Carlota and Rogelio. Mauricio called all the airlines to check if Mr. Rojas had board a plane in the past 24 hours, and got a negative answer. Mauricio put down the phone and told Armando and David, Francisco was never on any flight leaving for Europe or to anywhere else. In the hotel room: Carlota came to see Desiree. She said Mauricio told her Francisco had left for Europe Desiree said she is mad with Francisco and would stab him with a knife if given half a chance. Carlota said Desiree should be happy Francisco has gone, since she said she was bored with him. Desiree said he left her without a cent, what if Mauricio does the same thing to Carlota? Carlota said Mauricio won’t do things like that. Brandy was not at her desk, and Juana was trying her swivel chair. Popeye came to talk with Juana and was interrupted by Brandy. She told him to leave her friend alone. Popeye said he was only reading a poem to Juana. Juana took out the envelope with the photos and gave it to Brandy. Brandy said Juana has to hand it over to Mauricio personally because that was what he wants. Juana said she needs a special mask to see Mauricio. Brandy assured Juana if the photos she took yesterday are as good as her other works; he doesn’t have a reason to be rude. Juana said it’s just that she doesn’t like him. Brandy went to inform Mauricio about Juana. Left alone, Juana looked again at the photo with the blood which she kept in the envelope with the rest. Brandy went into Mauricio’s office and said her friend Juana is there to see him. David who was there with Mauricio lights up when he heard Juana has arrives. He stood up and said ‘Juana… my sol is here?’ Brandy was annoyed but kept her peace.. Armando smiled and told him to watch out for solar eclipse. Mauricio told them to leave when Juana comes in. David asked Mauricio and Armando not make things unpleasant for Juana. Mauricio should give her a break if the photos she took don’t come up to his expectation. Mauricio said the day he wants advice on how to run his magazine he’ll ask David for it. A knocked on the door and David opened it to admit Juana in. Juana said Ola to everybody, Armando and David stood there looking at her smiling. Mauricio sent a telepathic signal telling them to leave. David was intoxicated with love and failed to grasp. But Armando got the cue and dragged David out of the office. Juana and Mauricio exchanged nervous glances and Mauricio asked if she brought the photos. Juana said yes. The phone on Mauricio’s desk rang. Dr Ricardo was on the line and told him to have a bottle of champagne ready; the artificial insemination was a success. Mauricio is going to be a father.
