'I was hired as photographer for the party in place of Martin, he couldn't make it' Carlota came to the scene and demanded for explanation. Juana explained to Carlota what had happened and asked Armando to help her moved the bike to a safer place. Juana told Armando she was embarrassed something like that happened at Mauricio's party. Armando asked her who hired her as photographer. Juana's expression changed 'hold on… you're not thinking I'm making up stories, do you?' Armando started asking numerous questions; Juana said Brandy hired her, Armando was scornful and said only Brandy could do something like that. Mauricio came and asked Armando to leave them alone. Alone with her, Mauricio said to Juana he'll forget the damage she had done if she forgets what Armando had said to her. In the garden where the party was; Armando met up with Enriqueta and told her what happened at the gate 'You look so young, what experience do you have in photography?' Mauricio asked Juana. She explained her uncle had been showing her the ropes since she was five. Tongue in cheek, Mauricio said he played with toy plane when he was small, that doesn't mean he can fly a plane. Juana told Mauricio she is used to taking photos at weddings, baptism and the likes and they were beautiful. Mauricio asked her name, she said her artistic name is Solar - Sol and she showed him her necklace with the sun emblem on it, and she also has a tattoo on her hip. Mauricio told her to be silent and just followed his instructions on how and when to take photos at the party. Juana said she'll gladly have her payment deducted for the damage she had done, but she'll follow nobody's instruction on how to take photographs. She'll leave if Mauricio insist. Mauricio told her she'll have to do a full time job if she is to pay for the damages done, which she can't because she is an amateur and doing it for fun. Juana was mad when Mauricio said she was an amateur, nevertheless Mauricio agreed to her terms as he couldn't find another photographer at short notice. A servant came and Mauricio asked him to help Juana carry her stuff inside. Perez house: Ana Maria was about to go out when Manuel asked her where she was going. Ana Maria said 'I'm an adult of 34 and I don't have to explain where I'm going'. Manuel tried to convince her she was chasing an impossible dream. Ana Maria said she didn't know what he was talking about, and left. La Vega's place: On the stairs to Mauricio's backyard; Juana was thinking that Mauricio reminds her of Robocop who was about to put on his armour and showing his biceps. Mauricio told Juana she was allowed to take pictures in the vicinity of the party only, and not at other places. Juana excused herself and went to the toilet to make herself presentable. Later David came over to talk to Mauricio. In the toilet Juana felt like crying. It was a miracle that she is still alive. It was awful and embarrassing and felt like going home. Mauricio went to stand with his wife, Armando and Enriqueta. Enriqueta explained to Mauricio she didn't know anything about Brandy hiring Juana. Mauricio said he had overcome the problem and Juana will take pictures at the party. Carlota was mad; she said she could do it with her camera. Enriqueta excused herself and went away thinking that she is going to murder Brandy. The arrival of Brandy and Popeye; Brandy was puzzled to see the wreckage at the entrance and wondered what had happened. She later met with Enriqueta and the latter asked her who had hired Juana. Juana started taking photos and Mauricio was watching from afar. David saw Juana and he said to Popeye he is hallucinating, and that the girl of his dream is there tantalizing him. Outside of Alfonso's apartment: Ana Maria saw a couple leaving the block, and she hurriedly went in past the sleeping guard. In the elevator she was thinking if what she was doing is right going to see Alfonso at his home. Nevertheless she went in anyway. Perez house: Manuel and her mother argued over Ana Maria's behaviour, and as always Manuel sided with his sister. Azucena said Ana Maria is not giving a good example to her daughter, and she angrily left leaving Manuel some food for thought. At Alfonso's door Ana Maria pushed the bell after debating with herself whether not to. The servant answered the bell and Ana Maria asked to see Alfonso. Alfonso came and looked nervous when he saw Ana Maria. His wife asked from inside who it was. 'Just a man to repair the lift' replied Alfonso. Alfonso took Ana Maria around the corridor near the stairs and told her wait for him while he went to his wife and explained that he is helping the handyman to repair the lift. Closing the door behind him; he went back to Ana Maria and asked what she is doing at his apartment. Ana Maria said Alfonso hadn't answer her calls and she decided to come and see him. Ana Maria wasn't happy at how Alfonso was treating her, but he smooth talked his way and said he loves her and he doesn't love his wife anymore and bla..bla. Ana Maria forgave him and they hugged. Alfonso called a taxi, they hugged again before she leaves; his daughter saw them and was angry because her father had deceived her and her mother. At Mauricio's: Juana was busy with her camera. David approached her and said he had been watching her to ensure that he wasn't hallucinating. Juana said 'Ola David'. David asked 'Do you know that I'm drowned in your ray of light? David asked her to dance. Juana refused and said she is there to do a job and not a guest. David insisted. Mauricio came and asked if she is having a good time. David explained he insisted Juana dancing with him. Carlota came and told Mauricio her father and brother was there and asked Mauricio to come with her to meet them. Carlota stood for long second watching Juana. David asked if there was a problem. Carlota went away without giving an answer. Juana was angry and told David that she already had a problem with them and told David to find another dancing partner and she left without paying attention to Brandy's call. Brandy asked Juana what had happened because Enriqueta was angry with her. Juana told Brandy everything up to the point she was dancing with David; when Mauricio suddenly appeared. Juana looked to where Mauricio was standing and said she has a new name for him 'The Toxic Chief'. David was asking Mauricio how he got Juana to be photographer, Mauricio said Brandy hired her. David said Mauricio should be thankful to Brandy, and Mauricio said it's David who should be thankful to Brandy. Mauricio told David Juana has an artistic name 'Sol' and Mauricio excused himself as he saw Francisco has arrived. Francisco came with Desiree and he told Mauricio he wants to talk to him. Mauricio took him to his reading room. Perez house: Azucena opened the door to let Patricia in. She wants to see Manuel and Azucena said Manuel is in his room and she'll call him down. Patricia said she'll go to his room herself and leaves Azucena thinking girls nowadays are immoral. At the party: Juana was taking shots when David suddenly appeared with a flower. They got to talking about her necklace and her 'artistic name'. Juana said her uncle gave her the necklace and the name. Meanwhile Desiree was telling Carlota she doesn't know many people there. Carlota said they are mostly friends of Mauricio and people from the magazine. Carlota told Desiree about the surrogate mother and that she will not allow her to step inside her house even though she carries triplet in her womb. As they were talking Juana appeared and took pictures of them. When Juana left, they resumed talking. Carlota asked where Francisco was, Desiree said he is talking to Mauricio in his study. Rogelio noticed Desiree was alone and went to talk to her. He flattered her and she thanks him for his words and gift (meaning the bouquet & shoes). Rogelio said he can tell that Desiree is having problems with her marriage. Desiree said they are going to get a divorce and Carlota didn't know about it. She added Francisco is leaving her without a penny because it was in their marriage contract. Rogelio was surprise but said he will try to help her as much as he can if she so required. He then asked where Francisco was. 'Talking with Mauricio in his study' replied Desiree. Mauricio's study room: With a glass of whiskey in his hand Francisco kept glancing over his shoulder as they entered the room. Mauricio noticed Francisco was not his usual self ever since he came back from Europe. Francisco said to Mauricio that he (Francisco) is a traitor and about to betray his friend. He was about to tell what he knows about Rogelio when the latter stepped in the room. Francisco said 'fine now that you're here, because I've decided to tell Mauricio everything and I'm a coward no more'. And then to Mauricio, 'Mauricio, this childhood friend of yours is going to betray you and you're going to lose everything…' At that point Carlota came in and asked Mauricio to come with her to welcome the other guests that have just arrived. When they left, Rogelio closed the door and said he didn't know Francisco had changed his mind, and asked Francisco to come with him to another place to discuss further. Francisco was reluctant but Rogelio insisted and they went. Juana was taking photos of Enriqueta, la Bibi, Shiva and Popeye when Mauricio and Carlota came. Carlota suggested Mauricio get his picture taken with his employees, but Mauricio said he is worried over Francisco and went looking for him. Carlota wanted her picture taken with the others, when Juana complained she has just used her last film, but told them to stay put as she is going to get another roll from her cache. When she was gone Popeye found a bundle of firecrackers and decided to have fun with it. That raised objections from the rest but had to give way since Popeye was so intent on giving the party some injections. The co-workers got together and asked Carlota where Mauricio was. She said he is looking for Francisco because Francisco had something important to tell him. Alfredo was talking to Desiree and asked if she is Francisco's wife. Desiree said yes and a good friend of Carlota. Desiree asked him about his brother Humberto who was abroad. Alfredo didn't answer and let her do the talking. Then he saw his father, Francisco and his father's driver in the undergrowth behind's Mauricio's house. The trio was making their way to a deserted store house and Rogelio and Francisco were arguing. Francisco was angry with Rogelio as he wants him to stab his friend (Mauricio) in the back. Rogelio said business is business. In the store house they continued arguing back and forth to no end. Rogelio took out his revolver and pointed it at Francisco. At that time Popeye's fireworks went off into the air throwing brilliance of light everywhere. Juana was somewhere at the back of the house closer to the store, loading a fresh roll of film into her camera. Happily she watched the fireworks exploded in the sky. Then distinctively she heard the sound of muffled gunshot coming from a small house nearby, but wasn't sure if it's what she thought it was. She wondered if she should go and check. Mauricio had warned her not to wander about. But curiousity got the better of her, and slowly she made her way to the storehouse, then she heard the sound of something broken, a little later she came upon the scene and saw pieces of broken vase on the floor and a pool of blood. Taken by surprise she accidentally touches a latch on her camera and it went off taking shots after shots of pictures with her chanting no… no; she found her composure and ran for dear life and and bumped into Mauricio who was still looking for Francisco some twenty yards from the storehouse. Mauricio held her arm and asked rather roughly 'can't you go anywhere without bumping to anything?' Juana was out of breath, she said 'did you hear it?' 'That was the fireworks' Juana's face was pale, she said 'No… that wasn't the fireworks, you must come with me…' Music 'sólo a tu lado quiero vivir' Continue… |
