Hello, my name is Maks and I come from Boston, Massachusetts but currently I work and reside in Sofia, Bulgaria. I have a degree in Graphic Design and Media Arts and I also have four years of experience in E-Learning.
Even though my passion is web design, getting an education in Graphic Desing proved very beneficial to me as it not only gave me the needed tools but also helped me better understand the art of building a well-constructed and visually pleasing end product.
Creating my brand identity was a process that I found to be very energizing, fun and frustrating as well.
Frustrating because it took me a while to come up with a concept that best represented who I was professionally.
I knew I had to come up with a logo first as it is what constitutes the brand.
Once I had this done, I could build up on it to complete the other elements.
I realized that including everything that constitutes one’s personality and brand was a complicated process.
After I ended up with a concept about my logo – the fun part began. Since the brand name is “Maks Media Art”, I considered it appropriate
to incorporate the letter M into the logo and make it the focal point.
Incorporating the whole brand name into the logo can be tricky because it could take the focus away from the main symbol. This is the reason why I had to consider not only what the most appropriate typography would be but also about how it should be constructed so that it did not dominate the final product. It is essential that the type is simple and easily scalable so that the entire design
works well in any size, with different materials, textures, and against different backgrounds.
Please, feel free to take a look at my portfolio.
