" Haiden (Front Shrine) "
When praying in front of a shrine, Japanese --- who consecrate so-called "eight million" gods --- do not try to know which one of the gods are in the shrine.
They are not overwhelmed by the solemnity of the shrine, either; Shrines are made of woods, so some shrines can even be crumbling. The shrines are, in effect, part of land, part of soil, scattered on the surface of the land.
" Front Shrine," 107.0 -50.0 -h 16.0 cm, stoneware with iron content slip, sprayed solution of salt, wood fired and charcoal smoked, traditional way fired to 1250 degrees C. reduction, eight-day firing, vessels elements assembled over some threaded steel rod. 54th PREMIO FAENZA, ITALY, International Competition of Contemporary Ceramic Art
