This is the National Music Fraternity. I'm glad to be a part of such great guys. OAS AAS LLS! I'm Christian. I'm a United Methodist to be exact. My father, Dr. Joseph Geary, is a UMC pastor of the Memphis Annual Conference and one of the best too! I am proud of my family. My mom is a graphic artist/illustrator for a publishing firm, and my sister is in high school in the Theatre Department. I think I get a lot of my motivation from them. My favorite sport activity is Snowboarding. My dream is to live in Colorado, teach at a university or good high school, and snowboard on the weekend. Snowboarding is so thrilling because you have more control and maneuverability than you would with skis. Plus, the whole snowboarding community is full of interesting people and it's considered "extreme." I am a HUGE fan of Anime, or what Americans call Japanese Animation. To most fans of Anime it is more of an art form than mere entertainment. Plus, they are much more mature than the cartoons produced for American children, and the animation and artwork is no less than beautiful. My favorite series are: Fushigi Yuugi, Slayers, Golden Boy, The Big O, and Kodomo No Omicha (child's toy). I also enjoy reading Manga, or a Japanese Graphic Novel that is much like Anime except it's in comic book form. My favorite Manga are Houshin Engi (No DOUBT) and from what I've seen so far, Rurouni Kenshin. I play DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). Show Me Your Moves! Most my Friends from Memphis play as well. We are: ME, Robert Morrison, Alan Stoll, and Justin Carter. We shall be the Memphis DDR Freedom Fighters. There is also another DDR group out there named Dr. Wily's Failed Experiment.... Beware Kids, the leader hates large packs of fiver-year olds and toddlers who go to Celebration Station and aren't disciplined right. Favorite song is Brilant 2 U and Drop the Bomb. Adam Whitescarver, a 6'7" Nordic/German hybrid Behemoth, helps me get beefcake at UT. Music Awesome. I love Music! I have many different loves here. Classical: I prefer the larger Romantic symphonies and operas like Wagner and Mahler to the early Renaissance and Baroque period music. I also enjoy the classical works of Haydn and Mozart, Beethoven, and the music of 20th century Shostakovich, Gerswin, John Williams, and Copeland. Jazz: Man, do I like Coltrane! I also enjoy some of Charlie Parker, Armstrong, the R&B ish stuff of Grover Washington Jr, The Weather Report, Buddy Rich, Count Basey, and others, but these guys the most! Punk Rock: Whoo hoo! Nothing like a show. I like Pezz, Earth Crisis (if they count), The Clash, NOFX, Rancid, New World Turks, and many others. 80's stuff: man, this is where it is kickin, old school! I like Dexy's Midnight Runners, billy Joel's 80's stuff, Chicago, Cure, Duran Duran, Journey, Queen and The Police. Many others too! I'll play my sax or sing (hell yes I can) for bands and gigs too! |
