Toshiya’s head was pounding as he opened his eyes.  He tried to sit up but had to lie back down so as not to hurt his head any more.  He looked around the room where he was, but didn’t recognize any of it.  Toshiya heard the door to the room open and sat up slowly to see who it was that had just entered.
“So Finally up??  Sleep well??” Die greeted Toshiya.
“What happened last night??  And why am I here??”
“Well, You and Kyo got stinkin' drunk, so Shinya and I decided to take the two of you home.  Shinya took home Kyo so I took you home.  He thought you might appreciate it more after.... Anyway, you are in my bed, at my place.”
“If I slept here, where did you sleep??”
“Don’t worry.  You didn’t put me out or anything.  The bed is big enough, I slept next to you.” At this remark Toshiya smiled and stood up.  He had to put his hands on his head just to steady himself.
“Do you have anything for this headache?” He asked Die as he slowly followed Die into the kitchen.  Toshiya sat down at the little table as Die got him a glass of water and two aspirin.
“Here take these.” He said handing them to Toshiya.  “I’ll make some coffee.  Are you hungry at all?  Because if you are I can make you some food as well.”
“No thanks.” Toshiya managed to say as he took the aspirin.  “I think I will take a shower.  Would you happen to have anything for me to put on?  I don’t want to wear these smelly clothes anymore.”
“I might have something.  You had better hurry and shower, we have practice in an hour.” Die said as he walked away to get some clothes for Toshiya.  “All I can find is some old jeans and a shirt.  Would that do??” Die called from his bedroom.
“Yeah.  Anything would be fine.  How am I going to practice with this headache?”
“You’ll think of something.  I have to go call Shinya and see how Kyo is doing.” Die said as he went to the phone.  Toshiya got what Die had picked out for him and went to the bathroom just as Die started to talk to Shinya.
 

Shinya’s apartment smelled like fruit mixed with the smell of fresh coffee and eggs.  Kyo stood up from the sofa, it took him a little while to get balanced as he was still asleep, and walked into the cozy kitchen of Shinya.  Kyo sat down at the table and watched Shinya, in a bath robe, cook.
“Hungry??” Shinya asked.  “I just made the eggs, so they are still warm, or you could go take a shower.  We only have about an hour till practice.” Shinya finished as he sat down at the table with some coffee.  Kyo looked up into Shinya’s smiling face and thought that he must have just come from the shower, thus the smell of fruit.
“Who was that on the phone?” Kyo asked.
“It was Die asking me how you were and reminding me that we need to get to practice on time or else Kaoru will have a fit.”
“Do you know if Totchi got home Ok??”
“Die took him home.  I thinks he’s fine.”
“Die took him home? How drunk did I get him??”
He was pretty drunk.  Die just said that Totchi had a killer headache, but he’s up and kinda functional.”
“It was fun last night wasn’t it??” Kyo smiled.
“It was loads of fun, up until I had to carry you into my apartment.  How much do you weight?” Shinya laughed as he remembered what he had done.
“I was that drunk was I??”
“I think Toshiya was worse.”
“I should go home and get dressed.”
“No, I think you should just stay here and get dressed.  That way you won’t be late.”
“What time is it anyway??” Kyo asked.
“It’s 11:00.  I’ve been up since 8.  Why not go shower I think I have some of your clothes from the last time this happened.” With that Shinya smiled, stood up, and went to get Kyo’s clothes.
“Ok.  I’ll be quick.  Are you gonna drive?”
“No, Die is coming to get us.” Shinya yelled to Kyo as he entered the bathroom.  With Kyo in the bath Shinya decided to get dressed so as not to be late himself.
 

Toshiya was putting on his shirt when Die can in and said “You had better hurry.  We will be leaving in a minute so we can pick up Kyo and Shin-chan.  Oh and don’t worry about makeup, there’s no time.” Toshiya was a little mad at bring rushed with that killer headache, but he didn’t want to be late.  As he walked out of the bathroom he saw Die finishing a conversation with someone on the phone.
“Who was that??” Toshiya asked.
“Kaoru.  He said he was lookin for you.  He called your apartment, because he wanted to give you a ride to practice.  And when you didn’t answer he got worried so he called me.”
“Kaoru? Worried about me??  How funny.  He’s just trying to make you feel sorry for him.” Toshiya said quite mad, which made his head hurt more.  “What did you tell him?”
“I said that you were here and I would give you a ride to practice.  It’s getting late let’s go get the others.” Die said.  Toshiya and Die left the apartment and got into Die’s car.  When they reached Shinya’s, Toshiya got into the back seat so Shinya could sit in the front with Die.
“How are you this morning??” Shinya asked.
“My head hurts like all hell.  But other than that I’m fine.  How about you Kyo??”
“I don’t think I’m awake yet.” was Kyo’s reply.
“What a night.  Maybe we should do it again sometime.” Die said joking.
“Maybe next time Die and I will be the ones to get drunk and taken home.” Shinya added laughing.
“So Totchi.  Did you and Die DO anything last night??” Kyo asked mischievously.
“I don’t think I was conscious after I left the bar.” Toshiya answered.
“Than I must ask Die.” Kyo returned.
“I don’t think you would like the answer, Kyo.  Nothing happened.  I don’t take advantage of people, especially when they are drunk.” Die said.  Shinya had to look out of the window to hide his smile from Die.  As they pulled up to the studio, they were greeted by a mad Kaoru.
“About time you got here.”
“Well it does take a little while to get here from Shinya’s place.” Die answered so no one else had to.
“Well hurry up and get inside.  Oh, and Toshiya, I want to talk to you before you get in there.” Kaoru said still mad.  As the others were going inside Die looked back at Toshiya who was not happy.  When they got into the studio Shinya looked out the window to see if he could see Toshiya.
“I feel sorry for him.  I wish I could see him.  Do you know if Kaoru is the type to hurt someone physically??” Shinya asked as he looked at the others worried.
“I don’t think so.  But you never know.” Die answered.
“If he does Die will be the first to know.  I think Toshiya needs Die for something.” Kyo said.  “I know the man to well.  I know that when he starts something he finishes it.”
“Kyo, what do you think Toshiya has in mind??” Die asked.
“I really can’t tell for sure, but I think it has something to do with you and a break up between Kaoru and himself.”

Outside the studio Kaoru was talking to Toshiya in a rather hot mood.
“Where were you last night??  I called you all night.  I thought we were going to go bar hopping or something??  And why were you at Die’s house this morning?? And why are you wearing Die’s clothes??”
“I went to a bar last night, and ran into the gang.  I’m sorry I forgot we had made plans earlier.” Toshiya said trying to defend himself.
“Well what happened?/ How did you end up at Die’s this morning??”
“Well, Kyo and I got really drunk so Shinya brought Kyo home and Die brought me home.”
“What did you and Die do??”
“I would rather not tell you.  I’m allowed to do what I want.  I don’t need to ask you.  I can have a life outside of you.” Toshiya said.
“You two had better not of done anything.”
“Even if we did I wouldn’t tell you.  All I can say is that Die has a really big bed, and his clothes are comfy” As Toshiya said this he started to turn around but was stopped by Kaoru, who grabbed his arm and slapped Toshiya right across the face.  Kaoru, not really caring about what he had just done, turned and walked into the studio.  Toshiya stood outside the building.  He couldn’t move.
“What just happened??” He asked himself.  “Why did I say that? I knew that it would only upset him.  And I brought Die into it as well.” After his last thought Toshiya ran into the studio, hoping that Kaoru wasn’t yelling at Die.  He reached the door to the studio and hesitated for a minute, listening at the door for voices.  He entered the room and saw everyone warming up their instruments.  Die, Kyo, and Shinya looked up at him.
“Welcome back.” Kaoru greeted him, still a little mad at him.  “It’s about time you joined us.” he finished.
“Sorry!!” Toshiya said meekly.  Die eyed Kaoru, who was looking at his guitar, and than Kyo who looked back with an expression of concern.  After practicing for an hour they decided to call a break.  Kaoru went outside to smoke and everyone crowded around Toshiya not saying a word.  Die put am arm around Toshiya’s shoulders, and Toshiya buried his head in Die’s shirt.
“Toshiya.  What happened??”
“He asked what I did last night and I told him.  I forgot about the plans he had made to go bar hopping with me.  That mad him even more angry than he already was.”
“And then??”
“Well, he asked me if you and I had done anything last night and I wouldn’t tell him anything.  He than became so angry that...He slapped me.”
“He did what?!?” Die exclaimed.  “I can’t believe it.  And he is outside acting as if nothing has happened.”
“Totchi-chan.  Would you like to stay with me tonight??  We can tell Kaoru that you want a “girls” night out.” Shinya asked, trying to make Toshiya feel better.
“I need to talk to him.” Kyo said.
“No please don’t.  I don’t want you to get hurt.” Toshiya said stopping Kyo from leaving.  Toshiya was about to go back to Die when he stopped and fell faint on the floor.
“Toshiya!!!” Die, Shinya, and Kyo screamed as they ran to the unconscious man.
“We need to get him out of here.” Die said lifting him up and carrying him out the door.  On the way to the car they meet with Kaoru who looked at them.  He than noticed what Die had in his arms.
“Die where are you taking him??” Kaoru asked worried.
“I’m taking him back to my place.  He needs rest.  He has had too much to drink and getting up early wasn’t the best thing for him.” Die said not letting Kaoru know that he knew what had happened.
“Are you all going??” Kaoru asked.
“Yeah.  Die was our ride here.” Shinya answered.
“Let me come too.” Kaoru said.
You’ll have to take your own car.  There won’t be enough room.” Kyo told Kaoru as he helped Die get Toshiya into the back seat of the car.  Kaoru followed them back to Die’s house and helped get Toshiya into the house.  Kaoru was now frantic and didn’t know what to do.  Die put Toshiya in his bed and Shinya found a cloth and a bowl of water and brought them to Die.
“Here.  This is for Totchi.”
“Thanks Shin-chan.  Could you go tell Kyo to take care of Kaoru and than come back and help me??”
“Sure.   I’ll be back in a minute.” Shinya said and than left the room.  Die looked at Toshiya’s beautiful face lying there in his bed and didn’t know what to do about Kaoru.
“How could he do this to you??” he asked himself.  Soon Shinya returned and sat on the bed opposite of Die.
“Kaoru is sitting in the living room and Kyo is standing by the wall glaring at Kaoru.  I told them that all you needed was one person to help and you wanted me.  I’ll got ell them when he regains consciousness.” Shinya said as he looked at Die.  Die had tears I his eyes.
“Shinya look at him he is so beautiful, but on his cheek is a fat purple mark made by the man he is in love with.  Why him??  Why by Kaoru??  I thought they were in love.”
“How could they be in love??  From what Toshiya said Kaoru is in fact quite mean and doesn’t think of him at all.”
“Kyo said something about how when Kaoru and Toshiya first got together Toshiya was the one doing everything he accused Kaoru of doing.  He said Kaoru has always been true to Toshiya, but Toshiya has always had his eye out for someone else.”
“Did Kyo tell you who that someone else was??” Shinya asked as he wiped Toshiya’s face with the damp cloth.
“No.  He wouldn’t tell me, but I think I know who it is.” Die answered as he looked up at Shinya.  Shinya looked up into Die’s eyes and read the answer to his question.  He knew that Toshiya wanted Die.  He knew that Toshiya wanted the man he loved.  Shinya’s heart started to ache.  He couldn’t look at Die anymore so he started to wipe Toshiya’s face again.  Die knew what Shinya was thinking and placed his hand over Shinya’s hand that was upon the bed.
“Shinya.  I want to tell you something.  I want you to know that I like Toshiya, but as a friend only.  I have feelings for someone else.  Someone closer to me.  Someone who I know likes me the same way.” Die said, taking Shinya’s other hand from Toshiya’s face, and kissing it.  Shinya pulled his hand away and continued to tend to Toshiya.  “What’s wrong Shin-chan??”
“I don’t know.  I need some time to think.  Lets just tend to Toshiya right now.” Shinya said.
“Aright.” Die said.  Soon Toshiya regained consciousness.  He looked around and saw that same room again.  The warm cozy bed of Die.  He smiled and looked at Shinya and Die standing over him.
“What happened??” Toshiya asked.
“You fainted in the studio and Die carried you to the car and then up to his room.  He and I both took care of you until you woke up.  How are you feelin??” Shinya said all in one breath.
“My head hurts and my face burns.  Where is everyone else??”
“Well, Kyo and Kaoru are waiting in the living room for you.  They wouldn’t leave until you were awake.  Do you want to see them??” Die asked.
“I don’t want to leave.  I want to stay here.” Toshiya said almost crying.
“You can stay I’ll go tell them you are Ok but you need rest.  I’ll be back.” Die said as he left the room.
“Shinya, did you help?”
“Yes.  Die wanted me to help.  I guess I look like the type that can take care of people.”
“Thanks.  What am I gonna do now??”
“Well right now you are going to stay here and rest.  Die will take care of you.”
What about you??” Toshiya asked hoping that Shinya would not stay the night.
“I don’t know.  I’ll speak to Die.  I might just end up going home if he doesn’t need me.” Shinya said with a smile.  Toshiya stared at the ceiling and awaited the return of Die.

Out side of the room Die was talking to Kyo and Kaoru.
“He’s awake now, but he needs rest.  If you want you can go home and come back tomorrow.  I think he’ll be better by than.  If you want to you can see him now but only for a little while.” Die said as he turned to go back into the room Kaoru reached out and stopped him.
“Please.  How badly hurt was he.  I know I hit him and I feel so bad, but he does it to me all the time.  I knew that you two would never do anything, but the way he looked...Please tell me.” Kaoru pleaded.
“Kaoru, he is not hurt too badly physically, but mentally he might be damaged worse than he will tell.  I think the best thing now is to go in there and tell that you are worried and that you will be back first thing in the morning to see him.” Die said.  Kyo, Die, and Kaoru all walked into the room together.  Toshiya was propped up on some pillows and Shinya was sitting next to him on the bed still wiping his face with the damp cloth.
“Hey there Totchi.  How are you feeling now??” Kyo said a little too happily.
“I’m Ok.” Toshiya replied.
“Well I’m gonna go home and go to sleep.  I don’t sleep well on sofas.  See ya.  Oh and Totchi, I’ll be back sometime tomorrow to see if you are Ok.” Kyo said with a wink and left the apartment.
“Wait Kyo I’ll give you a ride in a minute.” Kaoru called after him.  “Die, Shinya can I speak to him alone for a little bit?” Die and Shinya looked at each other and than walked out of the room.  “Thanks.” When the two left the room Kaoru approached the bed.
“What do you want now?” Toshiya said coldly to Kaoru.
“I want to say I’m sorry.  I lost control.  I never wanted to hurt you.  I just wanted you to stop playing with me.  I love you Toshiya and I want you to love me back.” Kaoru said.  “Please forgive me.” He pleaded.
“I don’t know if I can.” Was all Toshiya said.  “Maybe if you come back tomorrow I will feel differently.” Kaoru looked into Toshiya’s eyes, which were filled with hatred.  Kaoru walked towards the door and then stopped short.
“I’ll be back in the morning.  Please think about what I said.  I meant every word.” With this said he left the room.  “Come on Kyo.  Lets go.  Die I’ll be back in the morning.” Kaoru and Kyo left the apartment.
“I don’t think Toshiya was too nice to him.” Shinya said.
“No I have a feeling he wasn’t.  So Shinya what are you going to do??”
“I don’t know.  I guess I’ll go home if I”m not needed.” Shinya said looking up at Die.  Die looked at Shinya and smiled.
“Of course your needed, by me.  I need someone who can help me ward off Toshiya.” Die said and smiled even bigger.
“Good.  Than your stuck with me.” Shinya smiled back.  “I’ll go check on Toshiya.” he said and turned towards Die’s bed room door.
