Kokampf is a new UK-based independent record label established by Andi Penguin of Maruta Kommand. The intention of Kokampf is both to provide a releasing arm for Maruta Kommand and related projects under the band’s complete creative control and also to release work by other projects of merit, most likely in the industrial and dark electro fields. Kokampf releases will be aesthetically pleasing pieces in editions of 1000 or less, on CD or possibly vinyl. Some items may be embellished with additional hand crafted decoration. Kokampf aim to distribute our releases internationally within both the industrial and Goth/electro scenes via as many distribution channels as possible, and will conduct extensive promotional activity on behalf of our releases, including events and mailshots. The name ‘Kokampf’, which refers to a mercenary tank force operating during the 1919 German Civil War, deliberately avoids specific reference to recordings, the intention being that it can be applied as an umbrella term to other activities formally undertaken by Andi Penguin and his associates, such as publications, event promotion and merchandise.

From crushing dancefloor assaults laced with atmospheric horror and metal-banging percussion to sludgy descents into muddy death industrial hell with the aid of modern digital equipment and ravaged ambient drifts through no man's land, Maruta Kommand's debut album release following their appearance with the opening and closing tracks of the cult 'Transmissions of Power' CD compilation on The Grey Wolves' Open Wound label combines old-school industrial aesthetics with the structural sophistication of elektro and an uncompromisingly bleak vision of the holocaust of European youth in two world wars.
Vocalist Fionna and violinist �ilish of the elegant UK neo-classical band Seventh Harmonic add a fragile beauty to the gruesome proceedings on two tracks, while French orchestral industrial monster Melek-Tha and UK electro-goths Brother Orchid embellish the album with a remix each.
