I now think this information came, not from Jenny Randles, but from Janet and Colin Bord I would be glad if anyone can tell me, because the same chapter also contained an account of a sasquatch who drove a couple from the parking lot where it was living, by telling them to leave. The authors thought it was unlike that the yeti could have spoken, but why should this be unlikely? Chimpanzees can learn the vocabulary of a five-year-old, and parrots can answer questions intelligently, so why not the yeti, who is our close neanderthal relative? |

| Idiot Science. The story of of a feral Ukrainian girl-child has recently been in the news. In the nineteen-twenties there was news of a pair of feral girls living with a family of wolves in an Indian forest. A local doctor enlisted a group of helpers, who tracked them down, killed the wolves, and "rescued" the girls. The doctor later expressed himself perplexed that although he had taken the girls into his house and tried to bring them up as humans, the experiment had been a failure and the girls had not thrived. Not one of the eminent experts and scientists who visited the girls to verify this, asked himself the following simple question: "If I were forced to to make my home and build my future with mass-murderers of my close family, would I thrive?" We come in peace(shoot to kill.) My most enduring memory of 2003 was a small miracle. In a world where countless species are rapidly becoming extinct (the orang-utan is next on the list) , a scientist (she shall be nameless here,at least) discovered a new bird. All her recordings of the sound and activities, all her visual images of the new creature were offered to the great god, science. "This bird exists, register me as its discoverer," she pleaded. But the great god Science rejected her plea. "We must have sacrifices" it replied ... How she wept as she tricked the bird, trapped it and killed it. Home from the hunt, she is now regarded by the scientific community as its discoverer, but other scientists continue to arrive at the place where it was discovered, intent on "gathering their own specimens".
