| Today, I challenge you to consider your love life in a different way than you may have ever done before. Consider the source of love--true love. I'm not talking about an infatuation or a "he-swept-me-off-my-feet"-kind of love. I'm talking about the kind of love you express when you husband has been unloveable, has broken your heart or caused you a deep disappointment--that is, if you are able to express love at all at that point. We all face this sooner or later in our relationships. It is in this situation where true love is measured. It's easy to love a man who showers you with gifts, flowers and compliments. But, when he's hurting you, can you still express your love? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| God *is* love. So, if God is in you, you have the potential of expressing love in the very worst of circumstances--even when you are hurting. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| God loved each of us enough to send His only Son, Jesus Christ to earth so our sins could be pardoned. I John 4:15 (KJV) says: "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| For wives already in God's love: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| If you have ever confessed that Jesus is the Son of God, the love of God lives in your heart. Our every word or action may not be an expression of God's love through us. We have a free will to choose whether or not to express God's love to our husband at any given time. As a Christian wife, our goal, of course, would be to perfect His love in our daily lives with our husband. What an awesome challenge! Start by studying I John 4:7 - 21. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| For wives interested in learning more about having God's love in their heart: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| If you have never confessed that Jesus is the Son of God, you can today by following a few simple steps. Then, you, too, will have the infinite love of God at your disposal. Our best efforst at loving our husbands, apart from God, may often fall short. But, His infinite love will never fall short. Follow these three scriptures (all KJV): | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;" This is easy to understand. We all have sinned and we don't compare favorably with God Himself. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Romans 6:23a - "For the wages of sin is death;" - Our sin earns for us a "death penalty". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Romans 10:9 - 10, 13 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made until salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - So, if you confess through your speech, believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead after His crucifiction, you can be saved from the "death penalty" over your head. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Therefore, to find forgiveness of your sins and to be filled with God's Holy Spirit, the Spirit of pure love, simply say this prayer: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Dear God, I know I've sinned. I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and fill me with the love of your Holy Spirit. Thank you for coming into my heart. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| If you said this prayer and meant it, your sins are now forgiven and the love of God reigns in your heart. Bless you! Send me an email and tell me what you have done. I'm at [email protected]. I'll be tickled to hear from you and it will be give me a chance to give you some suggestions on how to get started in your Christian walk. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In the meantime, find a Bible and read I John 4:7-21 and Matthew 28:19-20. Also, the entire gospel of John (different from I John) is a great book for new believers to study. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
