The Makendast Theatre Ensemble or MTE, was formed in 2001 by an independent collective of physical theatre practitioners. The "Makendast" delve into the "muck-and-dust" of performance styles and have emerged with revolutionary and creative story-telling methods wherein the body is the principle means of expression.

Artistic Policy: The MTE's work focuses specifically on the mastery of physical technique in order to create accurate illusion work as well as attaining a wide range of caricatures and characters. Concentrating on body awareness and the principles of mime such as inner musicality, focus points, isolation techniques and energy maintenance, the MTE interpret text or subject matter into the Body with creativity and physical precision.
