My Son

My Third Child and my Youngest

You would have thought we would have been on the ball, the third time around. I had just been to the clinic for my regular scheduled checkup. Doc said I could expect you in one week's time.

Well, I went home and promptly began to wash clothes using a small spin washer where I had to wash all my loads, turn around and rinse them, and only then begin to dry them in the dryer before putting them away. I was just about finished with the rinse when my water broke. We wasted no time.

At the hospital, examination declared you would be several days yet and they sent me home. You see, I had no labor pains.

I finished my wash. Something, and I am not sure what told me we had better head back into town. Enroute I had one sharp jab of pain.

Again at the hospital seeing as how I was not showing outward labor signs of "pain and screaming", the staff took their time with paper work and said they would call the Doc at any first sign. Your father called the Doc from a payphone in the hospital main entrance. Needless to say, the staff was surprised when he walked in and you were born ten minutes later. I had no labor whatsoever. You were born naturally weighing in at 5lbs.13oz.

My youngest is now in his mid-teens. He has many interests.
A young kitten grabbed at my son's heart and moved in with us in '92. Domino, now a member of the family, thinks she is human, barks at times like a dog, and even plays like a dog, yet still remaining cat in her own feline ways.
