March 1st, 2006-
Matt Ventresca and Daniel Field

Here it is, the setlist from the Clinton's show!

A pretty good mix of the old and the new. So Long, Babe Ruth! and Lights Out went over particularly well, where the acoustic version of Dehumanize is becoming one of my favourite songs to play.

Covers were Yesterdays by Guns and Roses, You've Got to Hide Your Love Away by the Beatles (which I unfortunately butchered) and Keith Dell'Aquila joined me for Mad World by Tears For Fears (It wouldn't be one of my shows without you, DQ).

In the opening set of the night, Dan and I played together and rocked the acoustic version of The Fine Art of Self Defense and well as playing some of Dan's songs. We closed that set with a stirring rendition of Bleed a Little While Tonight by who else but the Lowest of the Low.

The Final Set was a fun one. We played a little Gin Blossoms (Till I Hear it From You), some Neil Young (My My, Hey Hey) and closed the night with Oasis' Champagne Supernova. I was also joined by Jack Puzio as we hammered through Touche by Godsmack, without practicing!

For the encore, Dan played Milkshake, I song I still haven't heard in its entirity. I accompanied him with some percussion, but honestly, Dan stole the show on that number - which is fine by me!

Other Notes:
Dan admittedly start out a little nervous, but totally settled down as time went on and the music was more enjoyable when the crowd knew that Dan was enjoying the tunes as much as we were.
December Boys was a great track to start off with, and the Elvis Costello medley was also well received.
You may not believe this, but Dan covered Genie in a Bottle by none other than Christina Aguilera ON A BANJO! They strange thing was, it sounded pretty damn good.
I joined Dan for I Only Sleep During Winter Storms, and it worked out well - although I don't know how much my two chords contributed to it. I think the building effect he's looking for would work a little better if some drums came in at the end. But what do I know?

As for my set, it went decently well. I felt pretty comfortable, but then got kinda concerned when my voice started to give out a bit near the end.
These long, marathon sets can do a number on the vocal chords.
Dan joined me for So Suddenly, I saw some people groovin' to it, and even a couple singing along - I think I've finally made it.

Thanks for coming out everybody, I can't wait till the Free Times Show.
