Acoustic Rock Show...for giving
Here is the setlist from the L3 extravaganza.
The set was short, but I still
had time to display some new material, toss in a few favs from D
of A and play a cover.
Fly by St. Catharines rock legends
Far From Luke was spliced into Flying the Hindenburg (thanks for
the back up vox guys!)
I think Sunrise/Sunset is a
neat tune to start off a set with, especially going into Fine Art
of Self Defense which picks it up a little after a mellow and melodic
start.
Letter from Bilbao may become
a regular cover, especially the a capella arrangement I've put together.
I think I need an organ to make it complete however.
OTHER
NOTES:
Not even a snow storm could
stop me from playing this show. Four hours on the QEW getting there,
but it was worth it. I was very pleased with how things turned out
and the hometown reception I received from the L3 crowd.
However, four hours in the cold
car made my guitar mighty cold as well and the strings did not want
to stay in tune for more than a few seconds at a time. But since
I am the king of technical goof ups, I think I handled it OK.
Shout out to Darwin's Curse
who hooked me up with the slot and played a great set themselves!
They were relaxed and laid back and the sound reflected it - they
were tight enough to be good, but loose enough to be fun (if that
makes any sense). Good show guys, can't wait for the recording.
Also thanks are due to those
who were snowed in and couldn't make it out, especially those who
called or dropped me an email wishing me well. And an even greater
thanks to those who braved the elements and came out to support
an old friend.
