Matt and Dan Collide
The set format for this one was a little different than usual as
Dan and I switched back and forth instead of doing two separate
sets. We also collaborated on a few tunes as well.
The selection of my stuff included
some early versions of Matt Ventresca classics such as Just, Flying
the Hindenburg, Wonderful and others.
It also featured some great tracks that simply didn't make the cut
for Delusions, i.e. My Marise, Won't Let Go and who could forget
Number 5 (my ode to Donovan McNabb).
Dan and I also busted out some
pretty stellar covers of Otherside by the Red Hot Chili Peppers,
Wish You Were Here by Floyd and Landslide by Fleetwood Mac was our
encore.
I also covered Symbolistic White Walls by Matthew Good, and Dan
helped me out on piano for a stirring verson of 7th Birthday by
who else but the Lowest of the Low.
OTHER
NOTES:
This was a night I will cherish
for the rest of my life for sure. We jammed the back room at the
Free Times (probably breaking numerous fire code regulations and
spilling out into the restaurant).
The turn out was great, the
crowd was loud and I'd like to think the music was pretty good too.
Special thanks to Keith Dell'Aquilla
who debuted the now world famous Forgotten One and for anyone who
sang along with the songs we were playing.
To anyone who showed up, thanks
for the memories, they will last a lifetime.
And if you're wondering, the
colliding happening between Dan and I was simply a platonic, music
thing. DON'T GET ANY IDEAS.
