Two teenage boys were walking home from school on a gravel road that dust rose from in the blazing sun. They didn't talk much, they simply whispered when some thought bursted into their minds. Tall trees surrounded the land and the world seemed absent in this country scene. A peaceful place to live was growing quite hard to find, but they had found it. "Well Kakarotto, this seems to be a pleasant place to live, but there is nothing action packed about it at all. It is all too boring. I think I'm going to leave this blasted planet and go back home." "Wait a second, Bejita no ouji sama!! We have only been here two days! Your father said to stay a week." "But I don't care what my father said. And besides, we are supposed to take over this planet with hostility, not make them like us so much they just give up. Did I mention this planet is a piece of crap?" "Bejita! Listen to someone other than yourself for once. Just do what he said, then we can blow it up and leave. I don't want to get in trouble for disobeying the king." "Then you'll just get in trouble for disobeying the prince, stupid."Bejita smirked as Kakarotto frowned. It seemed that the peaceful place they lived in gave them opposite reactions. Kakarotto was happy with this new place and new faces. He loved the calm and relaxed world. Bejita was bored; he was the future leader of an entire race and had been spoiled in the palace to love hectic and raucous nature. He wanted to go back home and live in drama and raise the adrenaline by destroying anything that stood in his way. But there was one thing that was holding them back, Bejita was in denial, Kakarotto was blaming his happiness on something else other than the truth. They had both found a girl that seemed to light up their faces everytime they met. Bulma and Chi-Chi. They were quite beautiful each, both cheerleaders, both tempermental, but opposites on the totempole of life. Bulma was rich, loved the city, and was elated to have a challenge. She was also happy to have anything to do with intellect. She loved punk and heavymetal music, and when she wasn't talking, she had headphones on with some pumping music flowing through. Her father wsa the owner of the largest corporation in the world, and she was spoiled by nature. Bejita could not help but to be in some sort of love with her, but he was great at lying and hiding the truth.Chi-chi, was a country girl by absolute genetic make-up. She liked things calm, quiet, and she loved to study. She wasn't the valedictorian, but she was smart. She was Kakarotto's pick by far. They had talked many times, and she and he got along very well. "Bejita, why do you really want to leave?" Kakarotto suddenly imposed on his prince's quiet mind. The response was delayed, as though there was a lot of tension building up, and indeed it was. "Kakarotto, I don't like this place. It is that simple. If I had any other reason, I wouldn't tell you anyway." "You like that smart girl that is trying to beat you as the best of the sophomore class, don't you?" "If I did it would far from your concern. And let her try as hard as she wants. I will be the best at everything. And speaking of being the best, you want to have a little fight?" "Sure, Mr. Denial." The boys threw their stuff off to the side. Each one smiled, and they jumped up into the air. But unknown to them, they were being watched. Two girls had followed them to see where they lived, and they were greatly surprised with what they found. Bulma gasped, Chi-Chi fell to her side, unconcious. The noise was loud to a saiyan's ear, and Vegeta turned to see what had happened. "Why are you here?" He demanded, while blocking a punch thrown by his sparring partner. "We...were trying to find out where you two lived..." "Well, isn't that nice. How about you leave and consider youreslf fortuitous to have survived an encounter with me. Especially in the mood I'm in." "WE would leave, if we knew where we were. I've never seen a place like this anywhere near my house. And, my friend passed out, so I can't just leave her. So we are stuck." Bejita growled something to Kakarotto under his breath. He nodded in response, and went to check on Chi-Chi. Bejita slowly lowered himself to the ground. "Come on. Our house is only a couple of miles up the road. Follow me." "What? You expect me to walk two miles?! Are you crazy?" "No, I'm just not weak." "Hey! Bejita no ouji sama!! Maybe we should fly them there! Then we could get there-" "Kakarotto, you idiot. I want to walk, and I am going to walk. And-" "Bejita no ouji sama? You have got to be kidding me. You, are a prince?" "I...uh, well...yes. And shutup! I refuse to go into anymore detail because of Kakarotto's ignorance and disability to keep things to himself." "Well, excuse me, your highness. I didn't know. And knowledge is power, so I was trying to be all strong like you." " No hope there, you stupid girl. Now walk faster, I'm in a hurry." Kakarotto frowned, and he looked at Bejita quite perplexed. He was carrying Chi-Chi over his shoulder, and she was far from waking up. Bulma kept looking at her watch and frowning, then she would look at Bejita and try not to laugh. This behavior made Kakarotto snicker as well. Bejita just walked faster and faster. Bulma was soon at a jog, and muttered curse words under her breath as she put on her headphones. No sooner than she had, the road in front of them dissapeared. Bulma would have screamed, but she found herself floating in mid-air with Bejita's arm around her. She, being scared to death of heights, simply whimpered and curled up into Bejita. He looked down at her in shock, awe that she trusted him, even after he had shown her nothing but disrespect. Kakarotto smiled in the background, knowing that his assumptions were correct. Bejita was in love with the girl in his arms. Chi-Chi began to stir, and Kakarotto cradled her into his arms. He was gentle, in case she was sore from passing out. Her eyes opened and she smiled faintly, then she again passed out. He smiled at her, knowing that she must have felt safe in his care. That thought pleased him greatly and he secretly swore to keep her in good hands. "Kakarotto! What was that?" "Bejita...I don't know...But I think that someone is trying to assassinate you. It may be-" Another explosion rocked the Earth. Kakarotto's grip on Chi-Chi was slipping, but he held on with all of his might. "Kakarotto, we have to get them to a safe place! This is not their war, this is between the saiyans and whoever is trying to kill me.Where can we go?" "Bejita, you have to get out of here! You have-" "No! This is my fault to start with! I refuse to let them die when they were simply living life as typical teenage humans! They don't deserve it!" And he was set. Bejita was a brilliant speaker. He was bright as well, and he had a compassionate heart when he chose to use it. But Kakarotto noticed something a little bit different about Bejita this time. He was scared, and what fifteen-year-old would not be? He was on someone's wanted list, and they wanted him dead. But he had no choice but to be brave. His heart was set in making it through this with all he had started with. Ironically, the music playing in Bulma's headphones was "Taking Over Me" by Evanescense; it was an inspiration for Bejita. "Bejita...go to my house...do you know where that is?" "Bulma, I can't! I will put too much danger on you and your family. I won't-" "You have to. If you are dead, there won't-" "Kakarotto! Get the pods! We will leave this planet." "Yes sir!" He pushed the buttons on a strange device he pulled out of his shirt. "We gonna take them with us?" "Duh, Kakarotto. They can't fend for themselves." Two small pods flew to them, and opened. Bejita jumped inside his, with Bulma right next to him. Kakarotto did the same with he and Chi-Chi. The world quickly vanished into nothing as they were shot towards planet Bejita. "Bejita...what is going on...and...why are you trying to save me?" "Because...I feel like it. What is going on? I'm about to find out." |
