THE PATH OF LIGHTS
You walk away from the strawberries, and down the path. With one step, you are swallowed by a sudden darkness. You manage to make vauge lights furthur down, so you step quickly. Then, lights flicker on suddenly. You can make out some supernatural lights as many trees planted alongside the road branch overhead to make a arch, covering the path. There seem to be lanterns hanging from the branches. You can make out small fairies (light emitting from their wings) flitting in and out of the lanterns, as they fly around the path excitedly. Then, an equine walks among the fairies, and they start flitting around his head, chattering excitedly. With a dignified sweep of his wing, he brushes them away. He walks up to you, head raised high. He lowers his head to look down at you.
"Visitor... You are supposed to be with Atlas? I am Guide."
You give him a vauge nod. Then, you notice Atlas and Rita quarreling in the background. They walk closer to you, and then bump into Guide.
"Sorry, mate." Atlas says quickly, backing away from him. Guide doesn't seem to have even shifted.
"Have you lost something, Atlas?" Guide asks.
"Er.. Yeah, that human I was guiding through the forest... Oh! Hi." Atlas says, noticing you. You stare blankly.
"Now, what was I saying..." Atlas says, turning to Rita. "Oh, yeah! You should make HIM the tour guide, he has the perfect name."
"Really? The dude's boring as a stone, he wouldn't do as a tour guide..."
Guide makes a disapproving sniff. You turn your focus to a green fox... with two tails... Sitting in front of you on the path. You make to reach out to grab it, but it flicks its tails out of the way. Frowning, you try again, and this time it gets to its feet and dashes down the path. You run after it, passing the two equines and Rita with a whoosh. Suddenly, the threesome disappear.
Were they an illusion?
You ponder this in your head as you dart, not realizing where your legs are taking you, after the fox.
Chase it out of the grove
Take a strange hidden path...
