The path thins as the trees grow thicker on each side. You wedge through some particularly large tree trunks, and find yourself in a large clearing. Short grass spring around your feet, and apple trees grow in neat rows. You see an equine picking an apple off one of the trees. He is black with white socks. Great blue wings branch off his back. A metal cuff wraps around one of his legs, and 5 multicolored feathers hang off it.

You hesitantly take a step towards him. He turns his head to look at you.
"Why are you here, traveler?" he asks, getting to his feet. "Do you bring a threat?"
"No! Of course not!" you say, wringing your hands.
He relaxes, but a wary eye is still fixed on you. "Very well, traveler." he says. "Be on your way- but if you happen to meet some very unpleasant residents, take this with you."
He rips a small bit of green freather from his cuff out. He hands it to you.
"A present. It might have magical properties, so keep it with you." he nods. You look at it, and put it into your pocket. He bids you farewell as you walk back down the path.
