| Student Lead Discussion | ||||||||||||
| I was the first person to give my student lead discussion. It was quite an experience. The assignment was that we would choose something that interested us and then we would create something to get the class involoved and start a discussion. | ||||||||||||
| My discussion was on faith and religion and I related it back to a poem about Nathan the wise and his parable on the three rings. I put a lot of work into that and feel that I did an alright job. I wish I could have been able to work on it a little longer than I got, because I believe that I would have been able to go farther into the story and connect it with the website that I used as a base. It was interesting to read the parable and know that it was for religion. The connection that Nathan used as not knowing which ring was the real one and using it for saying which religion is the real one was smart. If you can�t tell what�s real in something as simple as rings, how can you be expected to know the real religion which is much more complex then rings? Doing this assignment also made me stand in front of the class and talk and to try to lead the class�s thoughts. I do not like to be in front of a group like that, and I know that I was nervous and I wish I could have better prepared myself for talking in front of them. I think that if I would have also made more questions that I might have been able lead the class more myself and perhaps have gotten the class to say something.
