IT'S A GOAL



YES, Godfrey Chitalu scored 107 goals in the 1972 season. Nicknamed ‘Ucar‘ after the longlasting battery, Chitalu not only led Kabwe Warriors to an unbeaten season that year but also helped them win all the the football silverware that year. Chitalu who went on to become national team coach was killed in a plane crash on April 27, 1993 when a Zambia Air Force plane crashed off the coast of Gabon killing all the 30 people aboard including members of the National Soccer Team.
