Welcome to FINCA SARAMANDAIA, our 35 acre tropical farm near Ciudad Colon, in the mountains of central Costa Rica. We are Sharon, a family doctor, and Richard, a systems analyst and former college professor. In 1971 we moved to Central America with our young children. Our careers and travels took us to many places around the world but we have always returned here.
Our appreciation of life in Costa Rica led to an interest in helping others look into relocating or retiring here. We answer questions through mailing lists ( [email protected] ) and bulletin boards like discoverypress.com and have been the subject of magazine articles about life in Costa Rica. We've also built two small furnished rental houses and offer our guests the advantage of our years of experience here. In the process we've made new friends, many of whom have become neighbors. For those who prefer a B & B arrangement we offer the guest suite in our own home; a double bedroom with separate bath, the use of a small refrigerator, its own porch and entrance, and a full, cooked-to-order breakfast. We're also supporters and members of the Costa Rica Innkeepers Association.
