Jeanne's Translated Tutorial 'Christmas Time'

The tutorial was created in PSP 9.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Download the supplies here.
(File size - 1,422 kb)
Save the gold beads image in your PSP patterns folder.
Open all the images in PSP and minimize it
to the bottom taskbar for now.

FILTERS NEEDED
Filters Unlimited - Photo Aging - Cracked

The color palette:
Foreground color: #dfe8f9
As well as the goldbead pattern.
Background color:#f1ece4
Change the foreground color to gradient
with these settings:
Style - Linear
Angle - 38
Repeats - 5
Invert - unchecked.

Open a new transparent canvas,
size 600 x 450 pixels.

Fill with the foreground color.
Open the 'boompie'-tube(tree).
Copy and paste as a new layer onto the canvas.
Move it to the left.

Copy and paste the tube 'rw-carlvalente_wintersunrise'
onto the canvas.
Move it to the right.

Copy and paste the tube 'boogr' as a new layer onto the canvas.
Effects - Filters Unlimited - Photo Aging Kit - Cracked Paper.
Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance.
You can move the background tubes around now
as you like it.

Copy and paste the tube 'kerststukje'
as a new layer onto the canvas.
Image - Resize 80%.
Image - Mirror.
Move it onto the windowsill.
Open the 'kerststuf' image.
Activate the Layers palette of the image.
Scroll up from the bottom and find the 'slingertje' layer.
Go to Edit - Copy.
Go back to the canvas and paste it as a new layer.
Move it to the top right as seen in the example tag.
Choose two of the gift packages in the 'kerststuf' image
and paste them onto the canvas as well.
Move them into position as seen in the example tag.

Copy and paste the tube 'hoek_Kerstboom'
as a new layer onto the canvas.
Move it the bottom left.

Copy and paste the 'kerstkrans'- image( Xmas wreath)
onto the canvas.
Move it into position as seen in the tag example.

Layers - Merge - Merge All.
Image - Add Borders: 2 pixels black.
Select with the Magic wand and
fill with the goldbead pattern.

Layers - Promote Background Layer.
Image - Resize 80%.
Select the border with the Magic Wand
and fill with the gradient.
Effects - Filters Unlimited - Photo Aging Kit - Cracked Paper
Selections - Select None.
Copy the corner tube
and paste onto the canvas.
Move it to the top left.
Layers - Duplicate.
Activate raster 3 in the Layers palette(the corner layer)
Effects - Distortion Effects - Wind: Left / 100.
Lock the bottom two layers in the Layers palette.
Select raster 3 ( highlight it in blue)
Layers - Merge - Merge Visible.
Layers - Duplicate
Image - Mirror.
Layers - Duplicate
Image - Flip.
Layers - Duplicate
Image - Mirror.

Layers- Merge - Merge All.
Selections - Select All.
Selections - Modify - Contract by 2
Layers - New Raster layer.
Fill the border with the goldbead pattern.

Change the foreground color to #742018.
Choose a nice font, such as 'JuiceITC', size 30,
which was used in the tag example.
Type your text.
Apply a drop shadow:
H & V = 2
Opacity = 70
Blur = 3
Color = black.

Add your name or watermark.
Merge all layers.
You can animate it now
