Our family, early 2004.

Our other "family"...hundreds of wonderfully colourful Bettas!

About Us

We are Florida members of the IBC (International Betta Congress), the Global Half Moon Breeders Club & the I-4 Betta Club who do business with Betta breeders and hobbyists all around the world.  If you wish to contact us, we can always be found on Aqua Bid and in the IBC (International Betta Congress) forums.

Our love affair with the Betta Splenden began some 25 years ago with the purchase of a lovely and highly interactive pet store "mutt". It has, over time, grown into a serious study of & experimentation with genetics which still holds our full interest.  We currently own over 300 permanent Betta that are used for enjoying, breeding and entertainment. By "entertainment", we are referring to their ability to entertain their people just by being themselves...we do not fight our stock!

Our current collection holds approximately 5% of loveable "mutts" & 95% show/breeding stock.  Even still, none are less important, nor treated any differently because of their pedigrees, or lack thereof. They are all well loved.  All enjoy a minimum of 1 gallon's worth of swimming room, receive water changes every 2nd to 3rd day with uneaten food & waste being taken out on a daily basis. Ph levels are kept in check, temperatures are nice & toasty, and a diet that consists of a variety of high protein foods is offered twice daily.  Studies have proven that stock's longevity is aided by this approach and we firmly believe in the benefits that result from a little extra care.

Care and feeding practices have always been something of a family affair with each of the seven older children having males of their own to fully care for and enjoy!  As can be imagined, they are also fantastic helpers when we do water changes every few days.  We enjoy seeing youngsters, whether ours or someone else's, being enthusiastic about a wholesome and worthwhile project.
