Early in January, the Japanese celebrate "Coming of Age Day".  The young people that have turned 20 years old during the past year dress in traditional dress and go to a special blessing ceremony.  We saw many young women dressed in their kimonos that day out in the city for a day of shopping.  The kimonos are very expensive...they can cost  $1000's of dollars.

Now for some contrast.....

I guess some teens are the same all over the world!
