The most important thing to know is to please DO NOT put your whole message in the 'SUBJECT' line of the message board. That is for, oddly enough, the subject of your texted message or even a 'teaser' as to what is in the message. Okay, now on to the rest of it..... RPG? For those of you who don't know, RPG stands for Role Playing Game. There are different types of role-playing games -- this particular one uses a chat room/message board! You start a storyline (AKA a "thread") and then people will answer it. This RPG is a Univeristy, so most of the characters will be either students or teachers. When you are RPGing: if your character is doing an action other than speaking, put that action in astericks (*). An example is: *Harry reached down into his backpack, looking for a quill.*When your character is speaking, put it into quotations. An example is: *She winked, then said, laughing* "Sure, I believe you!"Easy enough! There are also times when you will be Out Of Character. We call it "OOC". To let everyone else know this, do this: *Angelina smiled shyly at Joe* OOC: She may be shy, but she isn't interested! Sorry, Joe!Then when you continue, make sure you get Back In Character (BIC). Head Nurse for the Infirmary (3/7/03) Thank you, everyone for your patience. I have recently gotten back on track with things and am now ready to get things done on this site. I have recently entered over 30 new student registrations as well as some extra's and a couple new teachers and have sent all the new updated class lists to the professors. Please welcome our new students and staff, many being from Underwater University that was taken over by some dark lords. We are happy to have you with us. The Tri-Wizard Tournament is still going on. Task 3 has been posted and will take place on March 8. It is a little off schedule but will soon be coming to a close. Please go to Tri-Wizard Tournament and cheer on our Champion, Sandra Bloomwicks. Good luck Sandy on this last Task. My future plans for this site are still swirling around in my head, but I am going to try and make it so our characters have some sort of banking accounts so people can get jobs in and around the university. This will take some time as I need a database and someone that can work it for me, so your patience on this part will be asked for. Also, I would like to have add passwording for our registered users. This also will take time to get this all in order. I have a few other ideas along the line of a Wizarding Newspaper (which I attempted in the beginning of starting this but it never got off the ground due to lack of time on my part). As well as get a Student Counsil going. So if any of you are interested in the newspaper or student counsil, please let me know. This is the latest news about our message boards! We have found a system that is very similar to Inside the Web (thanks to Anthea ^_^*), but actually seems to be a bit better as far as features. We are going to be incorporating these new boards in as they get done. I am trying my hardest to transfer the old messages onto the new boards but it is very time consuming. So I am telling you now....not all messages will be on the new boards. Some are just too long. If they are an important storyline (and we read them all, so we know) I am trying to get them in, even if it is just some or part of the message. I'm sure you all understand. We are under a time constraint, so we are doing our best. The "CLUBS" section is completed if you would like to check out the new boards there and get accustomed to them. I think once you get used to them, you will like them. Thanks for your patience and understanding during this change. We appreciate your support!! (2/19/01) ATTENTION!! ATTENTION!! As much as we all HATE change, I am afraid there are going to have to be some changes on our Message Boards. Inside the Web, that supplies our Message Boards, is going out of business and shutting down the boards March 5. So, we are being forced to change the message boards. We are in the process of looking for a similar set-up but we are having a difficult time. The boards that we have found so far are quite different. Please bear with us during this time of change, as there is nothing we can do about it. We will do everything we can to keep the boards running smoothly during this time. Unfortunately, the threads may get lost during this change. We will try and transfer everything but can't promise, due to time restrictions. So if there is something you want saved, I suggest you start printing. Again we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you, but bear with us and let's keep RPing!! (2/2/01) UPDATES!! February Homework Assignments have been posted. Remember that February is a short month..only 28 days to get your homework in. ESSENCE OF MAGICK CLASS: As of the 1st of February, Professor Arien will stop taking in applications for the Essence of Magick class. All those who get their applications in before-hand will still be able to take an entrance exam. MUGGLES STUDIES: I'm sure you are already aware of the new Muggles Studies class being taught by Professor Beakwand, or more lovingly known as Great Grandnanna Beakwand. If you are interested in adding this class to your schedule, please contact Vice Chancellor Jaylor . NEIGHBORHOODS. Still have some home and apartment sites available. Teachers I thought you would be interested in these. Let's get these filled up!! If you want one contact Real Estate to secure a home or cabin. We want to see those shops filled!! There will be only 10 shops (message boards) available, so if you want one, don't delay. At the moment we have 7 'shops' left. Students: We are getting down to the wire. Get your homework assignments in by January 31, if you have not done so already. You don't want to lose housepoints!! Please make sure when you send in your homework that it has your name, house, and which assignment. Otherwise the teachers will not know which house to award the points to. Teachers: Please start getting February Homework assignments squared away and send to Vice Chancellor Jaylor . Get those in by Feb. 1 so that they can get posted on time. Also, make sure you grade the students homework within a day or two of receiving it. And make sure you are keeping track of the house points.
