Orlando 2000!

International Youth Convention of the Church of God! International Youth Convention of the Church of God! International Youth Convention of the Church of God!

This is Sarah, April and Sarah on our second flight, I believe, to Orlando. We flew from Portland, to Houston, to Orlando. (Ignore the dates on the pictures, they're one date early).

This is April (in the blue tank top) in front of the wonderfully happy Disney World castle (it's where Cinderella lives, ya know!) I was so incredibly happy to be at Disney World. Seriously! I'm 17, and I still believe it when they say that it's the happiest place on earth. The whole day I kept thinking "Hey! I'm at Disney World!!" We rode on all the important rides, like Splash Mountain where the boat stopped at the top of the fall for almost a MINUTE! The best was Buzz Lightyear though, I LOVE Toy Story. You pretend to be helping Buzz Lightyear defend the planet against "The Evil Emporer Zurg". The first time through I got 15 thousand points, but later that afternoon I got 69 Thousand! I was a pro.

Another highlight was watching the fireworks shoot up from behind the castle. I leaned over to April and said "This really IS the happiest place on earth, I'm so giddy right now". That kinda all fades away when you see 10 thousand other people trying to get out the same exit. Ugh :( but it was so worth it!

Another really fun moment was waiting to get INTO Disney World that morning. We were waiting for one of our leaders to buy tickets, and we were hanging out by a gate, where this older man was greeting people. Kerri, our youth intern, starting talking to him about his job, and all that, and we told him why we were in Orlando. His name was Hugh, and we found out he gets a 15 minute break every hour! Lucky guy, he was.Kerri LOVES starting chants, so she did a whole rendition of "Give me a M!" and spelt out Mickey, and she said "Who ya gonna hug!" and we said "Mickey!"

Okay, so we're standing there Kerri goes "Give me a H!" and she spelled out Hugh, and she said "What does that spell?", "Hugh!" we said, and she responded, "Who do you love?", and we said we loved "HUGH!" and then she finished with "Who ya gonna hug?" and it just went silent. Nobody said anything. It was SO funny.

Yes I want to continue on the Orlando journey! Take me onward!
No more insanity! Take me back to the pictures page!
Oh my word.. take me all the way back to Home!
