In 1981 Maggie starred in The Pirate Movie, a film based on the highly 
successful Gilbert & Sullivan musical The Pirates Of Penzance. She 
played Ruth, the pirate maid, alongside Christopher Atkins.

The Pirate Movie "spoofed" many other films too, including Star Wars,
 The Keystone Cops, and Love Story.
