The BEFORE Pictures

Stairs: When we moved in, these (as well as the entire entrance and living room) were covered in what one would generously call a pukey-beige-pink carpet. When the carpet came up, we found the wood underneath had been partially varnished and had hosted various widths of stair runners.
These pictures give a good idea of what kind of floor we've been living with for the last year and a half! The yellowy stuff is a mixture of Carpenters' Glue and Water Putty, a recipe recommended by our "floor guy." The picture on the right is a close-up of the floor by the hearth, to demonstrate the colour of the unpainted wood (before, that is) and the paint itself. The AFTER shots include the same angle, so you can see how seamless it is now!
