ippocrates was one of the first and most    influential physicians. This greek philosopher had many a-not-so-great-idea in the way of headache remedies.  One of which was drilling a hole in the sufferer's head to let out noxious fumes.  Another was vomitting until the pain ended.
Then, one day Hippocrates was doing his Hippocrates thing, when he decided to chew some willow bark, which to his surprise cured him of his aches and pains.
