Summary: Die Mannschaft verbringt einige schöne Tage in dem wunderschönen Dorf Kepra. Doubar und Sindbad waren schon seit acht Jahren nicht mehr hier und besonders Doubar will seine Freundin Cassandra wieder sehen. Aber etwas hat sich verändert seit dem sie fort gingen. Außerdem ist noch eine andere Person in Kepra- Turoks Tochter.

When the Nomad layed to the habour of Kepra the crew and they captain met on deck.

"Ok men." Sinbad said. "We have arrived Kepra. Here we will accept our new freight. But before we sail on with it you should make your selves some restful days here. We all deserve it."

The crew was happy about the captains announcement and especially Doubar was glad about that.

"I cannot believe it. It`s almost 8 years ago that we`ve been here."

"We had a lot of fun here in the past, Doubar."

Doubar laughed. "Oh yes. I still remember when you have been drunk for the first time and how much trouble we had to bring you home, little brother."

"We will have enough time later to refresh old memories. At first we will go to Cassandra. I`m sure you cannot await to see her."

When the men loaded all boxes with spices and precious cloth an the nomad they recognized that somebody else was on the ship. Rongar creeped close to him an finally he grabed the stranger. It was a little boy. Doubar and Sinbad were surprised when they sa w him.

"Hey little boy. What are you looking for," Doubar asked.

The boy answered bold: "I´ve never been on such a big ship. I wanted to see how it is."

"Are you interested in such ships," Firouz asked the boy.

"Yes. My father is seaman and later I want to sail around the world and have a lot of adventures like him."

"You have great plans," Sinbad said and smiled. "How old are you now?"

"Seven. Can I go now?"

"Of course you can. But next time ask before you go on a foreighn ship, understood," Doubar asked and the boy nodded. Doubar raised the boy from the ship and he run away quick.

After the men loaded up their new freight and the captain said goodbye to his crew, Doubar, Sinbad, Firous, Rongar and Dermott get together at the habour.

"And what are we doing now," Doubar asked.

"Taim already left some minutes ago," Firouz said. Rongar gave some handsigns and explained with them tham he and Firouz and some other crew members wre going to meet and celebrate together. So they said goodbye to eachother and Firouz, joined by Rongar and Dermott went to the others.

But Doubar and Sinbad went into a village near the habour. When they reached the house of Cassandra and she opened the door she couldn´t believe to see them and flung h er arms around their necks. They went into the house and Cassandra wanted to know everything about the past 8 years and why they are in Kepra again. They didn´ t know where to start when a little boy came into the house, the same boy they met before at the habour. When he saw Sinbad and Doubar he was very excited and went to Cassandra:

"Mother, these are the men who entered the habour today. I told you about them."

"I know," she answered him. "They are my friends. It´s captain Sinbad and his brother Doubar." She stoped for some moments. "And this is my son Erik."

Sinbad looked at Doubar and both didn´t know what to say. Cassandra saw this and said:

"I still can´t believe that you are here. My brother will be astonished when he sees you."

"Where ist Ories," Sinbad wanted to know because they were good friends.

"He´s still on the field with Akur."

"Then I will go and surprise him." Sinbad stood up and left the house to go to Ories.

Doubar still couldn´t say anything and Cassandra didn´t know where to start too. She told Erik to go out and feet the lifestock so she was alone with Doubar.

"So he is your son," Doubar said aghast. "Who is his father? Did you meet him right after I was gone or have I had the chance to see him?"

Doubar felt hurt and jealous because he and Cassandra were very close once.

"You think I was unfaithful to you," she asked him but he was silent. "Erik is your son!"

Doubar couldn´t believe this. He has been far away for such a long time without knowing he has got a son who´s waiting for him.

"Does he know," he asked Cassandra.

"He never saw his father. How could he knows it?"

Doubar went out to Erik who was closing the stabledoor.

"Do you leave us yet,\rdblquote the boy asked."

"No. I won´t leave you. Erik, you are waiting a long time for your father now, don´t you?" Erik nodded. Doubar waited some moments until he said: "I am you father."

The boy looked at him with big eyes and began to smile. Then Doubar took him into his arms and held him close for a long time.

Meanwhile Sinbad returned from the field together with Ories and his older son Akur. Sun already set and night began to break. Cassandra prepared meal and brought it together with a can full of wine to the table in front of the house. They waited for Doubar who came now with Erik on his shoul ders. Doubar let the boy down and he ran full of happiness to his mother. Then Doubar said hello to Ories and Akur but before they took place at the table Sinbad came to him. He got to know from Ories that Doubr is father and know he jsut wanted to say hi s brother how glad he was about that. They talked the whole night long and spoke about some adventures. And when Doubar brought his son to bed he still had to tell about them.

The next morning everybody stood up early and Sinbad was already buisy with mucking out the stable and care for the pets so that Doubar and Erik had enough time to be together. He spend the whole morning with this work. That wasn´t his imagination of holidays but it was a change.

Doubar and Erik returned not until noon and then they wanted to make a fence for the passture. Cassandra advised Sinbad to relax and amuse and finally she was able to persuade him to go into town to have a calm day and she called after him:

"I await you back for breakfast tomorrow, captain!"

Sinbad spent some ours in Kepra. In an inn where Sinbad and his brother spend a lot of time with friends he met old friends and they ate and drank and had long talks together. After Sinbad left the inn the next morning he walked through the crowded street s of the tow n. At the city wall, where you had an overfiew over the beach and the ocean, it happend that he met Taim. She seemed a little exhaust and pressed her right hand permanently under the left shoulder as if she would try to opress pain. But she didn´t let show it and asked:

"Why so alone captain?"

"To refresh some old memories and just to enjoy the atmosphere here. Kepra is wonderful."

"I´m just glad to be on hard ground again," she relied to this.

Suddenly she jerked. She pressed her hand on her shoulder again and stared confused at the ground as if she could see there something indistinctly. Then she jerked a second time and awoke. She grasped the butt of her sword close and looked around in an hectic way.

"What," Sinbad asked.

After a while Taim was a little calm again and took a deep breath.

"I thought to see Turoks daughter."

"Rumina," Sinbad said but suddenly he noticed disturbance on the market place and saw how the people went by side for some armed men. These men came from every direction and circled bot h slowly. Sinbad wanted to pull his swort but he knew that he had no chance against these pirats. Some of them stood so close next to him and Taim that it wasn´t possible for both to move. So there was no chance to escape. When the leader came to them he said:

"Long ago, Sinbad."

"Lasar! What do you want from me this time?"

Lasar and his men were greedy pirats. Sinbad knew Lasar for more than 15 years now and he had a lot of trouble with him. To Sinbads question he replied:

"I have the instruction to capture you."

"And who gave this instruction?"

Lasar didn´t react to his question. He let Sinabd and Taim put into chains and took them with them.

They went east to a lonly, rocky coast. The pirats chained them below a rock face on the cliff. Then Lasar and some of his men disapeared and the others moved back when a mysterious person suddenly trod to Sinbad and said:

"Hello Sinbad. Why so nervous?"

"I´m just surprised to see you again, Rumina. What are you doing here in Kepra?"

"Don´t worry, Sinbad. I´m only passing through with my men."

With a smile she came closer and Sinbad said:

"Where have you been?"

"Lets say I minded more important things. But here I am." She kissed him and then she said: "I knew you would miss me."

Now Taim began to say: "You still as cowardly as I can remember you, daughter of Turok."

Rumina looked at her with hate. She wanted to use her magic against Taim but she felt a strange energy who stoped her.

"Who are you that you dare to speak to me this way?"

Taim looked Rumina into the eyes. Both hasitated because they´ve never stood opposite eachother. Suddenly Rumina understood which power she felt and remembered. She steped back with a cheeky grin on her face but she was a little insecure. Nevertheless she said mocking:

"The curse hasn´t had the effect which it was supposed to have. Does Sinbad actually know who his new crew member is?"

"Does it matter?"

Suddenly Dermott came and landed on a rock.

"Dermott," Taim said stern.

"Just look, this bird is still alive!"

"Don´t tough him witch," Taim jailed at her.

Now Rumina got very angry:

"How can you dare! You don´t have the power anymore. And nothing could stop me to kill you."

Rumina turned with a sweep of her hand a flesh towards Taim and she almost broke down. Dermott moved fidgety his whings but he wasn´t able to do anything. Suddenly he flew up and disapeared.

Rumina was still angry. Now she turned to Sinbad again.

"Don´t worry Sinbad. Soon I will have the chance to devote my attention to you and your crew again."

She went away with the rest of the men and ordered:

"Let them hang there!"

When Sinbad didn´t return Doubar went to town. He wanted to know where his little brother is so long. When he went over the market he suddenly heard somebody calling his name and he saw Firouz and Rongar jostled to him.

"We thought it might be you," Firouz said. "Where is Sinbad?"

"I would like to know this too. He went to town yesterday. I don´t know where he´s now."

Then doubar couldn´t wait to tell them both about his son. They sat down on a table in front of an inn and drank something together. Doubar talked continuously about Erik and Cassandra and he didn´t want to stop. But then Dermott flew to them. He was nervous and flew away again. Doubar and Rongar understood that something has happened and followed him immediately. And Firouz paid the landlord before he run after them too.

It was almost dark now. After Rumina was gone Sinbad tried to remove from his chain but it was vainly. He often looked at Taim and he thought at Rumina. After a long time of silence he finally asked:

"What has happened to Dermott?"

Taim looked at him.

"What did Rumina mean?"

Taim said nothing for a while and watched him sinisterly. And then she said:

"Dermott is Maeves brother. Rumina turned him out of jealousy into this hawk. And I am the doughter of a powerful deamon who was killed in an underhand way. During a fight I was hurt and I´m not able to use my powers anymore. Rumina knew that but nevertheless she feared that I could be dangerous for her, concerned Dermott. And so she seperated me from Maeve in a storm. - Was it that you wanted to know?"

Sinbad couldn´t say anything. Somehow he always knew that Dermott is more than a hawk but he never got to know anything about him and Maeve.

Suddenly Dermott returned and Sinbad heard Doubar calling him. He looked at Dermott and hesitated for some moments before he answered his brother.

Doubar, Firouz and Rongar were standing on the cliff above them and when they heard Sinbad, rongar pointed down. It took them just some minutes to reach the beach. With all his strength Doubar tore off the chains of Sinbad and Taim.

"What has happend Sinbad?"

"We met Rumina."

"Rumina is here," Doubar asked.

"Why did she leave you hanging here," Firouz wanted to know.

"I guess she didn´t supposed to meet us here. She said she is jsut passing through with her men and she has got other plans."

They discussed a while but they were sure that Rumina already left Kepra again and that they should go back now. Doubar invited his friends to come with him to meet Cassandra and Erik. Whilest Doubar, Rongar and Firouz went away Sinbad and Taim stayed. They haven´t had to say anything to eachother now. Finally he nodded and gave her to understand that it was time to follow the others.

Doubar spend some days with his son and Cassandra. Though they haven´t seen eachother for years the feelings were still the same. When the Nomad wanted to set sail again it tooks a long time for Doubar to say goodbye to Cassandra. But he promised to return quick. Erik joined his father to the habour and while the crew prepared everything he stayed at the ship and watched them. When they were ready Doubad had to say goodbye to Erik. The boy cried and even Doubar was close to tears. Now Cassandra came to the habour too, and took her son in her arms . And after the Nomad layed off they stood there a long tome and watched the ship after.
