DICK WARLOCK: THE SHAPE H2

Dick Warlock As Michael Myers

Dick Warlock got the role as the Shape in Halloween II.  His role was simple, without lines but many Halloween fans feel that he was portrayed Michael Myers.  Warlock wore lifts in his boots in order to appear as tall as his predecessor Nick Castle.

Dick Warlock Interview

1.  What was it like to work with Donald Pleasence?

Warlock: Donald was a real pro.  He knew everybody's lines and was always on set when needed.  I miss him.

2.  Do you have a favorite scene from Halloween II that you would like to share?

    Warlock: The Hot tub Scene.

3.  During the film, you only speak a few lines in your double role as Michael and a cop.  Did this make Halloween II a great experience for you?

Warlock: Not especially.  The Green Beret was a defining moment for me.  Working with the likes of John Wayne, Bruce Cabot and Mervin Leroy who directed the Wizard of Oz.

4.  What are your impressions of the Halloween fans through your encounters with them via the web or autograph signings, etc.??

Warlock: Except for one fan in particular, I have a lot of respect for the fans.  IF it weren't for them I wouldn't be on the web or doing conventions.

5.  Has Halloween II had a positive impact in your life and career?

Warlock: Not on my career but on my personally, yes.

6.  Halloween III is widely disliked by Halloween fans because it has nothing to do with Michael Myers.  did you at any point have negative feelings about the film or storyline?

Warlock: First of all.  I liked Halloween III as a stand alone movie.  It held up well on it's own.  The people who didn't like it are Michael Myers lovers.  Not the Halloween series by it's self.  Take Michael out and they would throw tomatoes at it.

7.  In one scene (in Halloween III) you are killed and some brown stuff seeps from your mouth.  What is that stuff?  Do you have any clue what it was made out of?

Warlock: That liquid was orange and it was, are you ready for this?  Frozen Orange Juice.  Sweet huh?

8.  You play a character similar to Michael Myers in which you kill.  Was it fun filming the murder scenes (of either Halloween II or III) because of the way you dealt with fake blood and other neat ways to depict death?  (I am not a sicko I just want a impression or two about what it takes to film these types of scenes).

Warlock: I liked the scene where I pull the guys head off for strictly gore.

9.  What were your impressions of fellow co-star Tom Atkins? (he plays your nemesis in Halloween III)

Warlock: Nice guy but he really left no impression.  Not like Jamie Lee Curtis did.

10.  Finally, you are in possession of one of the most famous masks in horror history.  Why do you think fans are so drawn to the mask??

Warlock: It's because of the simplicity of it.  It's like when someone just stares at you and doesn't answer when you ask, "What are you looking at?".  Makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck!!

I wish to thank Mr. Warlock for taking the time and effort to answer these questions.  Please visit his Official Website for autographs and other Dick Warlock news.
