Deputy Gary Hunt
On October 31, 1978 Deputy Gary Hunt responded to a call at the Wallace House. He and his fellow officers found three bodies, all teenagers and one of them was Annie Brackett. Once he saw that she was dead he sought out Sheriff Lee Brackett, her father who was cruising the streets of Haddonfield with a frantic Doctor Sam Loomis.
Upon finding Brackett and Loomis he informs Lee that his daughter is dead. The threesome return to the Wallace house where Brackett closes the lifeless eyelids of his teenage daughter. Hunt sends Brackett home to inform his wife of the incident and to take the rest of the night off. Hunt then teams up with Loomis to find the vengeful Michael Myers.
Hunt is one of my favorite characters in the series and he is a individual that was left unexplored by the writers in all the future Halloweens. It is unfortunate that his character still remains unexplored with Halloween 8 on the horizon.
Actor Paul Hunter Von Leer was born in 1944 in Indiana. He has appeared in over 50 different film and TV appearances as a guest actor. Most notably he has starred in The Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas, The Rockford Files, Charles Angels and Quantum Leap.
