A Fireman's Prayer When I am called to duty, God whenever flames may rage; Give me strength to save some life whatever be it's age. Help me embrace a little child before it is too late Or save an older person from the horror of that fate. Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout, And quickly and efficiently to put the fire out. I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me To guard my every neighbor and protect his property. And if, according to my fate, I am to lose my life, Please bless with your protecting and my children and my wife. -Author Unknown

**The song below is called "Fireman's Prayer" performed by Plainfolk. It was inspired by a Fitchburg, PA firefighter who died in the line of duty. And is dedicated to firefighters everywhere who put their life on the line everyday.** Below are the lyrics of this song.
Chorus: Lay me down beside cool waters Lay to rest my body sore Send the word out to my brothers The fire is down, let it burn no more If my brother goes down Lord, let me be near Won't you let me have what the flames demand Won't you give him voice, O Lord, and let me hear And give me the reach Lord, for his outstreched hand
