PROTEST DOE SSFL/ETEC ALTERNATIVE CLEANUP PROPOSALS
PROTEST INADEQUATE AND INAPPROPRIATE DOE ALTERNATIVES
OAKLAND 24 JANUARY 2002

AN OPEN LETTER OF THANKSGIVING TO U.S. SENATORS FEINSTEIN AND BOXER, THE UNITED STATES SENATE, THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS, THE CALIFORNIA STATE SENATE, THE SPEAKER OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA*, ROBERT M. HERTZBERG, FORMER ASSEMBLYMEMBER* SENATOR SHEILA JAMES KUEHL, (CA Senator Kuehl), AND THE CALIFORNIA STATE ASSEMBLY (* Election to California Senate, November, 2000):

I am horrified that existing law allows Boeing et al to deny all persons injured, (by their companies' criminal, illegal, handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous radioactive and non-radioactive hazardous wastes), to any redress or compensation due to their statue of limitations defense in U.S. District Court Region IX.

Boeing/Rocketdyne et al pleaded guilty to criminal charges regarding their illegal disposal, handling, and storage of these lethal carcinogens in 1996; however, they notified no one and still deny contamination when queried by residents and persons working in the area, and deny all to those persons they have injured by unconscionable application of the statue of limitations defense.

Please support urgency legislation to destroy such loopholes in existing law which allows corporate predators such as Boeing et al a defense for their heinous irresponsibility based upon such a negligent technicality of existing law.
Thank You, Madeline Felkins
