| While getting the oil pump off I finally found where the hell that last bolt holding the AC bracket on was and took it off. | |||||||||||||||
| With the oil pump and AC bracket off, the last bolt was the 'hidden' bolt in the top of the timing chain cover. To get to it, first I took off the distributor drive gear on the front of the camshaft. | |||||||||||||||
| Here's the hidden bolt location, in a pool of oil at the top of the cover. It's not in the Toyota service manual, so it's an easy one to miss. Thanks Toyota. | |||||||||||||||
| I also had to remove the water inlet and outlet pipes on the back side of the timing chain cover. There's one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side. The passenger side bolts are removed from the front while the drivers side ones are from the rear. To take off the drivers side one you need to remove the bolt attaching the dipstick to the engine block. Here's where the top bolt on the drivers side one is located, right below and behind where the power steering pump attached. | |||||||||||||||
