Chapter 12
Meeting up in Marigold's Field

As Nick and Kyree made it back to the path they ran into Kevin and Ice. "Hey Kevin, this is Kyree...my companion."
"This is Ice...Ice this is the blond one I was telling you about" Kevin said laughing a bit.
'Ahhh...Kevin spoke much of you, you are one for the tricks are you not?'
Nick smiled "Yes I am, I'm always up for a good prank."
'Nick...Is he the tall, dark and handsome one with the...how did you put it, ah...stick up his ass most of the time' Kyree asked coyly.
Nick flushed bright red and Kevin raised his eyebrow "Stick up my ass hmm?" Kevin asked him in mock anger.
"Sorry Kevin" Nick said looking away from him.
"Lighten up Nick, its all good" Kevin said slapping him on the back.
Suddenly they heard a hawk cry and saw a large Goshawk circling them. As it got lower they heard 'Breeze find Howie's friends...Howie come.'
Howie walked up behind them "Hey guys...Breeze found you I guess" he said smiling as Breeze landed on his outstretched arm.
'I found...I good hawk...Howie I good hawk?' Breeze asked questioningly.
"Of course you are love. You are a very good hawk for finding my friends."
Looks like we've all gotten companions now" Kevin said smiling. "I wonder if Alex has one yet" he mused.
"Let's get back to the field and find out" Howie said walking along the path.
'Kyree...wanna race me?' asked Ice.
'You think you can beat me?' Kyree asked in mock shock.
'I know I can fur ball.'
'Try me' Kyree said sprinting off down the path with Ice hot on his trail.
'I beat all of them...I fly' Breeze said taking off from Howie's arm and zooming into the air.
"They're almost like kids" Howie laughed. Nick and Kevin nodded in agreement.
"Come on, I want to congratulate my Kyree after he wins."
"Ice will have him beat in no time flat" Kevin protested pushing Nick down the path.
"I can beat you old man" Nick said in a cocky tone.
"You're on" Kevin said taking off down the path.
"I'm gonna win" Nick cried taking off after him.
"Sure, our companions are like kids" Howie said shaking his head and laughing as he followed behind Nick and Kevin.
At Marigold's Field AJ and Brian were lounging with Mythos and Aketa when they saw a large Goshawk zoom down to land gingerly on the fence beside them.
'I win' she said shortly and began to preen her feathers.
Moments later a wolf came bursting into the field with a cat with orange stripes on his tail close to his heels. The wolf skid to a halt in front of the horses with the cat stopping next to him 'I won you slow poke' the wolf said with a smug look on his face.
'By like a second' the cat sulked.
'You wrong wolfy...I win...I here first' the bird called to them looking at them for a moment before going back to preening.
'No fair, you flew' the wolf shot back.
"Umm...I don't mean to pry but who are y'all?" Brian asked looking from the bird to the wolf and the cat.
"Yeah, do we know you?" AJ asked.
'I Howie's Breeze' the bird said distractedly.
'I'm Kyree...Nick's companion' the wolf said lying down next to Mythos.
'I'm Ice...The firehead's companion' she said lazily sharpening her claws on the fence post.
"Great" AJ muttered softly.
Suddenly Kevin came bursting into the field from the path and ran smack into AJ sending them both flying to the ground.
"Damn Kevin!" AJ cried as they hit the ground.
"So...sorr...sorry" Kevin panted lying on AJ.
"If you're sorry then get the fuck off of me" AJ said whist thinking he didn't want Kevin to get off of him then thinking why he didn't want Kevin to get off of him and utterly making himself confused in the process.
"Let me help you up old man" Nick said slightly out of breath behind them. He grabbed Kevin and yanked him off of AJ. "I can't believe you beat me" he pouted.
"So all of you are bonded now...except me" AJ said trying to mask his disappointment.
"Don't worry AJ, you'll be bonded soon I bet" Howie said trying to comfort his best friend. He could feel how hurt AJ was at being the only one without a bond.
Just then Jakara walked up to the fence of the field "So how are you all getting along here in Valkara?" she asked hopping over the fence and walking over to Aketa.
"Great, this is my companion Mythos" Brian said petting the side of his head.
'Aye lassie, it's been awhile since I last seen ya. You haven't given me any sugar as of late' Mythos said bowing his head to her.
"I'm sorry Myth honey but I've been very busy on patrol. Besides, now you have Brian to give you your sugar."
'True lassie, too true.'
"This is Breeze, my Goshawk" Howie said walking over to Breeze and allowing her to gently climb upon his arm.
'Me Breeze your highness...my Howie here' Breeze said carefully walking up Howie's arm to his shoulder and preening his hair.
"I see that Breeze, my you have grown since last I've seen you" Jakara replied softly.
'Well now your fieriness, I haven't seen you in a few months' Ice called out from between Kevin's legs.
"Oh Ice! You know when I first met Kevin and I knew he'd be bonded, I was hoping it would be to you" Jakara said kneeling down to scratch Ice's back. She looked over at the wolf standing next to Nick "And what about your companion Nick, does he have a name?"
'I'm Kyree, son of Kris and Rhyeea' he said bowing his head.
"I've heard good things about you Kyree" Jakara replied.
She turned to Alex and he sighed "Look, I'm not bonded yet ok" he said frustratedly.
"It's alright Alex, you'll bond soon enough" Jakara said soothingly.
"Right" he said walking off across the field.
"Should we?" Howie asked.
Jakara shook her head "Nay, he just needs to find his own, he is special that Alex, very special" she sighed.
Howie looked at Breeze 'Follow him please' he asked her silently.
'I go...I follow...I keep safe' she said taking off into the air after him.
