Unchaining my Heart
Chapter 2
-AJ-
I woke up, the sun reflecting on my tired face. I attempted to get out of bed, but someone stopped me from doing so.
The events from last night came rushing back to me. Turning over, I see Brian lying next to me, his arms wrapped around me, and sound asleep. I smiled lightly at his sleeping figure before placing a kiss on his forehead, receiving a content sigh from him. He looked beautiful and innocent, like an angel; my angel.
For the last year and a half, I let Brian go to be happy with Leighanne, burying my feelings deep within me. After all this time, I've never been able to move on. Now here I am, lying next to the man I love.
I hear a moan, which brought me back to reality. Glancing back at him, our eyes locked, his sky-blue eyes shining brightly like stars. "Good morning, Bri," I whispered to him.
He yawns and smiles lightly back at me. "Good morning to you too," he whispered back. He cups my face in his hand, luring me in a loving kiss.
Suddenly, the phone rang, causing the both of us to break our kiss. He groans out loudly, and a light chuckle escaped from my lips. "Babe, it think you should get that," I say, kissing his forehead.
"I don't want to though," he pouts. My grin grew, loving it when he pouts. "It might be our wake-up call anyway."
"Yeah, but if you don't answer it, it's going to continue ringing," I reasoned.
"You're right," he said with a sigh of defeat. He rolls over, grabbing the phone that continues to ring. "Hello?"
-Brian-
I didn't want to argue with Alex, and he did have a point. I broke my embrace, turning over and grabbing the phone, the sheet falling to my hips. "Hello?"
"Hey cous," Kevin's deep voice rang in my ears. "Where have you been? The phone rang about nine times already."
"I was in the bathroom," I lied. If I told him the truth, Kevin would freak and would blame Alex for everything. He would hurt Alex and I can't bear to see him hurt. I know my cousin, and I know about our religion all, but I'm happy with Alex. Whenever I'm in his arms, I feel secure and safe. Like I belong in his arms.
"Oh okay. Well anyway, since today is our day off, I was wondering if we could all just hang out. By the way, where's AJ? I tried calling him, but I didn't get an answer."
"Um...he's probably exploring the hotel. You know him. He likes to wander off. He'll turn up soon."
"Yeah, I guess you're right. So how about it, Brian? You want to hang out?"
I covered the mouthpiece and turned over to Alex. "Kevin wants us to all hang out," I told him.
"I'm not sure," Alex replies.
"I'll tell him later." Uncovering the mouthpiece, I began to speak to Kevin.
"Umm Kev, maybe later. I would like to get more sleep. It's kind of early for me."
"Okay." Relief went through me. It's not that I don't want to hang out with the rest of the guys, but I just want to spend more time with Alex. "I'll see you then."
"See you later, Rok," he said this before hanging up.
After placing the phone back in its cradle, I turned over, facing Alex. "Now where were we?" I asked, my hand running down his chest, loving the feeling of his skin. He grabs hold of my chin, lifting it up so I was facing him. He leans in, his lips touching mines, caressing. I got lost in the kiss, our tongues playing with each other. I moaned as he flicks his tongue in my hungry mouth.
Once pulling apart, my eyes were locked with his. "Does that refresh your memory?" he asked. Leaning in, I capture his lips in a heated kiss, giving him my answer.
"I take that as a yes," he said after we pulled apart. My lips tingled from the kiss we just broke, and our breaths mingling between us. I rest my head on his on his shoulder and a silence came between us. After a while, he asks, "Hey, are you hungry?"
I wasn't expecting him to ask that question. Raising my head, I looked at Alex, amused. "Do you have to be thinking about food right now?"
"No," he said matter-of-factly, the smile never leaving his face. "I was just asking if you were hungry and if you were, I can call room service to order breakfast."
"You're so sweet, Alex. You know you don't have to do that for me." I smiled. Yawning, I lay my head back down on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat. Our bodies pressed together, giving off our heat to each other.
"Listen, why don't you get some more rest?" he asks, kissing my forehead. "I can tell you're still kind of tired. I'll wake you up later."
"Okay." I do feel a little tired I have to admit. "I love you Alex."
"I love you too, Brian." A grin appeared on my face, listening to his heartbeat. I closed my eyes and sleep took over me.
