Unchaining my Heart

Chapter 3

-AJ- I really didn't want to get up from the slumber I was having. But here I am, in my own room once again, getting ready for to meet the rest of the guys down at the meeting area, which is down on the third floor.

A knock was at my door as I zipped my pants up. I walked to the door and opened, a smile crossing my lips when I saw whom it was. "Brian!"

He approaches me wrapping his arms around my neck.

"Hey," he whispers, softly kissing my cheek. "Are you ready?"

"Almost, baby. Almost," I whispered back to him. I pulled away from his embrace and went to retrieve my Nikes. I grabbed them and sat down on the bed as I put them on. I really didn't want to go out right now. Not that I want to hang out with the rest of the guys; they're my brothers. But I just want to spend some time with Brian. We just got together and I want everything to turn out well. On the other hand, I guess it's okay to hang out.

Once I was done tying my shoes, I stood up, walking over to Brian as I put my shades on. I grabbed my red cap and put it on backwards. "Let's go."

He smiles and grabs my hand as we walked out and closed the door behind us.

We walked down the deserted hallway to the elevators, hand in hand. He lets go of my hand when the elevator doors opened.

An elderly Chinese woman walked out of the elevator and looked up at us.

She greeted us by saying hello in her language and smiled at us. We smiled back giving her the same response in Chinese before entering the elevator.

As soon as the elevator doors closed, I glanced over to Brian. He looks back at me, flashing me a smile; I smiled back at him and grabbed his hand, gently squeezing it. "Hey," I began. "Do you want to go have a tour of Beijing with me? I mean, it's up to you."

His smile grew and his eyes sparkled. "Aren't we going that?"

"Yeah, I meant by just the two of us," I replied.

"I'd love to, Alex. I've always wanted to visit the Great Wall of China," he replied. "And you know what's best about it?"

"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, and a smirk on my features.

"That I get to spend the time with you," he answers. He leans forward and his lips pressed softly against mines. My eyes fluttered shut as I kissed him back passionately. The elevator dinged, which brought us back to reality and we pulled immediately pulled away from the kiss.

I looked up to see what floor we were on and we were on the third floor. The doors opened and we walked out, acting as if nothing happened. My lips still tingled from our recent kiss, fighting the urge to grab Brian and kiss him again.

We arrived at the meeting area, where we saw Kevin, Howie, and Nick sitting in white leather seats, our bodyguards standing by the seats. Howie was talking to someone on his cell phone, probably talking to his girlfriend, Janice back home. Kevin was looking at some Chinese magazines, and Nick's listening to music, his head moving with the beat, his eyes closed.

Kevin looks up from the magazine he was skimming through and smiled at us. "Hey you two," he greeted. "It's about time you got here." He turned to Howie and Nick. "You guys ready to go?" Howie nodded, saying his good-byes to Janice before hanging up. It seems that Nick didn't hear Kevin, for he kept on listening to his music, which I can hear.

Smirking, I walked over to my younger band mate, smacking the back of his head, causing him to jump. "Hey! AJ, why'd you do that for?" he whined.

Brian laughs from behind me and I couldn't help but join in. "Kev says we're going now. Unless you want to stay here by yourself," I said.

"No way! Besides, you guys can't have all the fun," Nick replied. "And there's so much I must see. If I did stay, what am I supposed to do?"

"Well, you could go that club in the fifth floor," Brian replied.

"Yeah, but there's hardly anyone there during the day."

"Hey! Are you guys going to be coming or what?" Howie chirped in. "Kevin's already waiting for us on the bus." I didn't notice Kevin leaving or anything. I guess I was a little caught up with our conversation.

"I'm coming. That's for sure," Nick said, getting up from the leather seat, and almost running out of the door. Howie shook his head as Nick ran off and turned back to where Brian and I stood. "And what about you guys? Are you coming?"

"Yeah, we're coming," Brian answered.

"Okay. Hurry it up, we don't want the bus leaving without us," Howie informed before he was out of sight. Brian and I glanced at each other before following after, our bodyguards behind us. We caught Howie and his bodyguard, Travis waiting for the elevators to arrive.

The elevator dinged, the doors soon opening. Once the doors closed, I reached out, grabbing Brian's hand, and giving it a firm squeeze. We smiled at each other and he squeezes my hand back. There was a ding and the doors opened once again, giving us way to get out. I let go of Brian's hand as we exit the elevators, behind Howie and his bodyguards.

There, standing by the leather seats was our tour guide, Frank. "There you are," he said, walking over to the three backstreet boys and their bodyguards. "The others are waiting in the bus." Just then, he headed toward the back. We followed; passing by the water fountain and a black piano that was playing 'The Sound of Music' repeatedly. Beside the piano were three statues, all women.

As the doors to the back of the hotel, opened the cool breeze blew in my face, sending chills down my spine. I knew I should've brought a thicker jacket, because I'm freezing my ass off! But it's a little too late for that now. We approached the bus and once we were settled, we were on our way.
