| Public Spirited Little Whirlwind |
| Jimmy and Miss China, Chen Si Yu made their appearance in a yo- uth rehabilitation centre and were the focus of attention. Jimmy's fat- her, Mr Lin De Xiong expressed, "I always persuade Jimmy to quickly get married and have kids but he has phobia for marriage. Perhaps when he was young, he had been through the process of seeing his parents divorcing and the break- down of the family. Thus left a very bad experience in his young hea- rt." Jimmy had never hesitated about participating in community events. Yesterday, the event about caring for the youths was held by Rotary International, Ming De branch wh- ere his father was one of the me- mbers. Jimmy expressed that the care a- nd concern he received since he was young, stopped him from tak- ing any wrong paths in his life jou- rney. Therefore he also hope that those who were misled, to not lo- ok down on themselves just beca- use of a mistake made. "As long as you try hard, you will change over a new leaf." "Actually most youths are naive a- nd innocent. The youths in the re- habilitation centre may have taken the wrong path due to family prob- lems or mixed with the wrong co- mpany. But we should not give up on them. As long as giving them the love and concern that they ne- ed, in future, they can be useful ci- tizens for the society." Jimmy said with deep thoughts. The funny thing was Jimmy's fath- er disclosing of his personal 'exp- erience'. Actually at the year when Mr Lin was going to be enlisted, as his parents passed away at an early age, no one in the family kn- ows his exact date of birth and di- dn't enlist him for military service. Eventually, he was arrested and just when he was to be sent to co- urt, it was actually a public holiday and there was no hearing held, and no one came to bail him out. Thus he had to stay in the rehabil- itation centre for 3 days and 2 nig- hts. |
| Mr Lin said laughingly that altho-ugh he was locked up not becau- se of committing a crime, he still learnt something, a 'jail song'. Af- ter saying that, he sung the song out loud which pleasantly surpri- sed everyone. Jimmy also expressed that it is a new experience to visit the rehab- ilitation centre. It actually felt fam- iliar when seeing the youths in there as they seemed just like hi- s brothers and sisters, and they are worth to be cared for. Especially when everyone in the audience were listening to his fa- ther singing, it felt just like a fam- ily gathering. Mr Lin went on stage and spoke to the youths, "I'm your senior. At that time, due to some mistake with the enlistment procedures, I was sent to the centre. I can und- erstand the feelings that you are going through." This won him a great round of applause. Mr Lin also disclosed that Jimmy and his 2 brothers could have al- most end up in there. "When they were young, I was a single father, bringing up 3 children. I have to work as well as look after the fa- mily. I was not able to take great care of them. Only request that they have enough to eat, clean cl- othes to wear and that was all. If they want to turn bad, it's actually not difficult." Jimmy also expressed that he was very rebellious when he was a teenager. Thus all the silly thin- gs that a teenager could possibly do, he had also done before. This gave his father a big heada- che. In recent years, he was so into car racing which is a very hi- gh risk job. His father had ever disapproved very strongly again- st it. Mr Lin expressed, "Recently, Jimmy with a group of friends w- ere involved with the paparazzi, speeding in the late night, I was frightened to death. | 15th October is Jimmy's birth- day, and tomorrow he would be heading for San Francisco to receive an award. | Jimmy To Receive International Outstanding Youth Award |
| Jimmy has finally moved into h- is 'luxurious home' situated in Da Zhi just recently after spend- ing 6 months furnishing it. And following this is another good piece of news. Yesterday, he had board his flight to head for USA. On the 17th, he would be presented the 'International Out- standing Youth Award' by Gove- rnor of San Francisco. |
| This same award was presented to Tom Cruise ten years ago, and now, another celebrity will be receiving it, moreover, also the first Chinese in history to receive this award. Jimmy's agent, Xia Yu Shun expressed that the Governor of San Francisco has decided to declare 17th October as 'Jimmy Day', this honour is even one level above Tom Cruise! Mainly hoping that Jimmy would continue to play a part for the state in the long run. Appearing in various community events, not only awarded him honourable citizen status, but also the 'International Outsta- nding Youth Award'. This can be said to be a very high level of honour in the entertainment scene. Jimmy said happily, "My birt- hday is on 15th October, this award is my most unforgettable, most precious birthday present. Other than receiving an award, my birthday wish is to find my loved partner, concentrate on a rel- ationship." Jimmy expressed happily, "In the past few years, I was invited to participate in charity performance, comm- unity events in America. Being able to gain recognition from the- m and receiving such honour, this makes me really happy and honoured, I felt that this year's birthday is very meaningful." With Jimmy's healthy image and passion in helping others, he had received many awards in US. Even newly-elected Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger may probably personally present him an award next time, and this made Jimmy looking forward to it. He expressed, "I'm very supportive of Arnold Schw- arzenegger going into politics, as I feel that being a celebrity, it's not just about singing and acting. There should be other forms of development. Like me, I chose car racing. But maybe a few years later, I may also consider going into politics, to service the public." Also appearing in community events in Taiwan, Jimmy doesn't hesitate to lend others a helping hand. After the completion of his new home which he managed all by himself, Mr Lin has sta- rted his action of 'marriage persuasion', with hints like, 'This ho- use just lacks a mistress', etc, which made Jimmy felt quite pre- ssurised and not sure of what to say. After receiving the award, he would be heading to China for filming and racing in Beijing on 26th October organised by Asian Festival of Speed. Hearing of car racing, Mr Lin began to turn nervous and said, "I want him to marry quickly, then he won't keep thinking about car racing all day long." Jimmy who just went to China to shoot a pudding commercial, will head to USA and returning back to Taiwan on 20th, after whi- ch, Jimmy will be heading for Hang Zhou, China to film a period drama serial, 'Shu Jian Xia Qing Liu San Bian', co-starring with Chen Yi Rong. Amongst filming, he will also have to take part in a few races. He is so busy that he doesn't even have time to re- st. He said helplessly, "My birthday this year is to find my other half in my life, but I think this wish is difficult to fulfill as I am too busy. And as one ages, I realise that work pressure gets even greater, so I put almost all my focus on work. Thus, wish is still a wish, work is still the most important." Other than filming, Jimmy is planning to release an album next year. Heading towards both fields of acting and singing. He said laughingly, "Acting and singing are both my greatest interest, but I haven't release an album for a period of time now, so I hope th- at next year, other than accepting good shows, I'm also able to release an album. | Awards Filling His Luggage, Jimmy Tactfully Rejected American Citizenship |
| Having a successful career and the passion for community servi- ce, Jimmy brings pride to the Ch- inese community. Initially, he sp- ecially made his trip to USA just to receive the 'Outstanding Youth Award', but he unexpectedly rec- eived 10 awards. However towa- rds the invitation to apply for Am- erican citizenship, he politely rej- ected with 'stay on Taiwan, set eyes on international' as his rea- son. Jimmy who just returned from US, expressed that this trip was really unexpectedly fruitful. As the local Chinese community gave him great recognition, and pres- ented many awards to him. Within this short period of three days, he was almost giving his thank-you speech and receiving award non-stop. Jimmy said smilingly that he appreciates the support and recognition given to him by the Chinese community in San Francisco. Many of the locals suggested Ji- mmy to take this opportunity to apply for migration, but instead Jimmy expressed that he curren- tly doesn't have plans to do so. Jimmy who hasn't adjust his jet- lag after his recent return and ye- sterday (20th), he had to rush an- other flight to Hang Zhou to film in his new serial, 'Feng Liu Cai Zi Liu San Bian'. In this serial, he will be protraying the role of Liu Yong who is good in poetry and martial skills. Famous for his be- autiful poetry, almost every ladies are proud to own his words. Jimmy said, "In reality, I have ne- ver wrote any love letters to any- one, but received many letters fr- om female classmates and fans since past to present." Jimmy said that there was once he received from a fan, a letter w- ritten in blood, which gave him a shock. He immediately persuad- ed this fan to stop using such a way. Fortunately, after that, he do- es not receive such kinds of lette- rs anymore. Just past his birthday, Jimmy fin- ally realise that 'happiness is mo- st important'. | acters Jimmy played were very well-known. Something differ- ent is that in 'Shu Jian' there is no happy ending, but a sad ho- wever beautiful story. Liu Yong is also a man of sorrow. Altho- ugh it's quite a big difficulty, Ji- mmy likes to face challenges and is confident to portray him well. This serial is planned to complete filming works within 75 days. Jimmy is nearing the age of 30 but still looks like an innocent young man. He said that by maintaining a cheerful heart, you won't grow old. In this seri- al, the Liu Yong that he is port- raying has the luck with ladies and have a convoluted love st- ory with 5 ladies. When he was asked what kind of lady in the serial would he prefer most to be his life partner, he laughed out loud and said that probably a more cheerful one. Then that would be just like Cong Cong (name of the female character). Soon after, he turned serious and said, "Really, I really hope to find a life partner and lead life happily." | With handsome looks and righ- teous airs, Jimmy with a white full-length gown on him will be portraying as the role of Liu Yo- ng. "Liu Yong is different from the past roles I had played. Althou- gh he is also a scholarly perso- n, he's very skillful in martial ar- ts as well. It's a character which I like a lot. He's filled with poetry verses, filled with love and the verses he composed have very beautiful meanings. But memo- rising poetic verses is the grea- test difficulty for me. From today onwards, I am prepared to spe- nd 2 hours each day to read his poems and gradually try to find the feelings." Jimmy said frank- ly, "In the past, I'm better in Mat- hematics than language. Come to memorising, I couldn't make it. Just like a computer, having small memory space but the processing speed is fast. And usually, I love to go on the inter- net, spending 2 to 3 hours. | Memorising Ancient Poetry Verses Gives Jimmy A Headache |
| Jimmy is not afraid of martial arts scene, but is afraid of memor- ising books! Accepting the new serial, 'Shu Jian Qing Xia Liu Sa- n Bian' which will comprise of 30 episodes, Jimmy turned hims- elf to a talented poet and pugillist, Liu Yong. Although his role has all the luck with ladies, he has to recite poems every now and then. Saying that though his brain thinks fast, but having po- or memory gave Jimmy a headache. He couldn't even read his script smoothly when he read his script. He said laughingly, "My memory is very poor, I forget my lines as I memorise them. Poe- ms are especially difficult to memorise, really a headache!" The crew thought of writing the verses on a big board to help him al- ong, but Jimmy laughed embarrassedly, "This is not a variety show, looking at the board, how am I to act?" Jimmy's poor memory is like a computer with a very fast RAM, but the amount of memory space is very little. He said, "Whatev- er I eat on the plane, I'll forget once I got off from the plane. With so many complicating literary verses, how to memorise! So I can only depend on my memorising skills on the spot of acting. Starting from today, I plan to spend 2 hours every day to memor- ise his poems." In the film, Jimmy's role as Liu Yong fights well and literary talented. No matter man or ladies are all envious of his talent. In history, Liu Yong has relationships with 23 ladies, Jimmy said that in this serial, there will only be 5 so he will be able to recite less ancient poetry. He also said awkwardly, "I thi- nk I won't be able to surpass Liu Yong in 'this area' in my lifetim- e." But about his private life, Jimmy refused to disclose and sm- iled secretly, saying, "This is a secret." Just returning from USA, Jimmy immediately head to Hsin Cha- ng for the opening ceremony when he hasn't even adjusted fro- m the jet lag. During the ceremony, Jimmy looks tired without e- nough sleep. Actually, the previous night, he had specially cho- se a hotel next to the riverside, so that he would be able to get some peace to catch up with his sleep, but a level above him was a KTV and the whole night singing the song, 'Under the Ba- nyan Tree'. It disturbed him till he couldn't sleep and he ended up singing along. Moreover, he hasn't worked for a long time, a- nd still didn't quite get used to it. When his assistant woke him up to prepare for the costumes, he even asked in return, "Why do you wake me up?" Carrying that exhaustion, Jimmy even loo- ked very lost that morning, not knowing which country is he in now. So as to suit Liu Yong's literary airs, Zhang Ya Dong composed the melodies for 7 of the poems of the Song Dynasty. Of the 7, 2 poems will be used as the theme and sub-theme songs. Other than Jimmy who would be singing, there's the possibility of invit- ing Faye Wong to sing as well. Jimmy's value status for acting in China is high but he still has the love for singing. Currently, he has already started recording for the new album. Although already reaching the age of 30, Jimmy still has a baby face. Other than some fine wrinkles that were not obviously se- en on his face, there wasn't much difference in the feeling of him now and when he just started out. Towards this, Jimmy said la- ughingly, "Maybe it's because I always maintain high spirits, so making me look younger." Not knowing what reason, from Lu Xiao Feng, Duan Yu to Liu San Bian, Jimmy's ancient image seems similar, without much change. Jimmy also agreed with this view, "As the character's personality were quite close, gentlemanly type, so the image al- so looks similar. | Jimmy Racing In Porsche Carrera Cup, Beijing Station |
| Once again, Jimmy is participati- ng in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia challenge. He was invited by joined organiser, Mobil and would be taking part in this most successful race in Asia this we- ekend in Beijing's Goldenport Circuit. This is the 2nd time Jimmy is dr- iving a Porsche 911GT3 in a ra- ce. He had shown an outstand- ing performance in his race in Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit this June. That was the fi- rst time Jimmy drove a Porsche in a race. Under those disadvan- tageous circumstances at that ti- me, he was still able to compete with high standards and the org- anisers and racers were very su- rprised with his performance. At that time, there was a need to in- stall a new part in his car and ev- entually he had to start from the pit stop instead of the starting point. He raced fearlessly and caught up with the rest of the ra- cers, smoothly reaching the fini- shing point. The race has entered it's 10th a- nd 11th round. There is now the extreme competition for the over- all champion. Jimmy is looking forward to the participation of the 2 coming rounds. He has a rac- ing experience of 6 years and had taken part in many various categories of races, including si- ngle seater race car, circuit race- s and rally races, and had won in many races, owning outstand- ing results. | Car Skidded & Damaged, Jimmy Is Unhurt |
| Jimmy participated in the 10th r- ound of PCCA in Beijing Golden- port Circuit, but at the 5th lap, he accidentally skidded, causing th- e opponent behind him with ins- ufficient time to react and collide- d to the right rear end of his car. Fortunately Jimmy escaped uns- cathed. When he was managing a large bend, due to an overly increased speed, his car accidentally skid- ded and made a 360 degrees s- pin, hitting the barrier at the side of the track. Hong Kong racer, R- en De Cong was approaching b- ut due to the great speed, he co- uld not avoid in time and hit hea- d-on to Jimmy's car. This led to shattered pieces at the scene a- nd vigorous leakage of the fuel. The friction generated some sp- arks and there was the risk of an explosion. Both racers escaped unhurt At the moment of the collision, Ji- mmy swiftly alighted from the ca- r. After the incident, still feeling s- hakened, he said, "The whole in- cident happened too fast. After I accidentally skidded, the car be- hind immediately collided." Jimmy was not hurt and after Re- n De Cong received medical att- ention, he was also fine. Ren De Cong said, "Seeing Jimmy skid- ded, initially, I thought that he wo- uld avoid turning into the track b- ut unexpectedly, his car was ins- tead horizontal on the track and by then, it's already too late to av- oid!" Insurance for racing rejected With Jimmy's passion for racing, even the experiences of accidents do not deter him. This is not the fi- rst time he faced a collision. Last year he ever caused the damage of a car, and that was also due to skidding and similarly, collided at the rear end.
