| ent company wanted to arrange a serial 'Beach Boys' specially for him, but he had to head to China late this August to film 'Tian Long Ba Bu', thus he made his guest appearance in 'Secretly In Love With You', enabling him to film together on the be- ach with Wallace Chu- ng, Tae, Zheng An Lun, etc. With big senior helping out in the show, the m- ost happiest should be little junior, Zheng An Lun who have some interesting scenes with him. She said excitedly, "When Senior just star- ted out, I was still in pr- imary school, I've like him for a very long tim- e!" On saying that, she got Jimmy full of smil- es in return. Also, many pop-idols who wanted to contin- ue their career, tried m- any ways to delay ente- ring national service. |
| Jimmy had been through this before and was able to underst- and their feelings. He said that he also received the letter from the military just when he was at the highest peak in his career, but he went along with it, not wanting to be labelled as 'using special priviledge' to delay it and like everyone, fulfilled his two ye- ars into national service. | Jimmy Won For The 3rd Time Round |
| Jimmy had got American Chinese Television 'Most Popular Male Artiste' for the following three consecutive years. Once again achieving this award from the votes of American Chinese, Jimmy was simply over- joyed. He said, "This year is my 10th year in sho- wbiz, it's definitely more special. I'm planning to hold a mini concert with my fans, and next year, there's plans to hold my personal concert in Ho- ng Kong Coliseum." Being able to achieve this award, he said smili- ngly, "It's really a very big encouragement, now the entertainment scene is always changing, many artistes are slowly quitting, I'm still able to gain popularity, naturally, I'm extremely happy." He added, "In the past, I had wanted to change myself and tried to present in many mature styl- les, later I realised audience like just the way I am and therefore, I've stopped trying to change myself deliberately." | What's the feeling of 'fighting with oneself'? Ask Jimmy and you'll know! During August, in CTV 'QTDS', CTS 'Secretly In Love With You', ETTV 'Lu Xiao Feng', Jimmy can be seen in these thr- ee 8pm slot drama serials. He doesn't feel pre- ssurised, in fact, he said happily, "These 3 seri- als are filmed at different periods, so audience would be able to see the three different sides of me." With Jimmy's popularity, three serials airing at the same time in this month, and three totally different personalities in the shows, Jimmy's all rounded acting skills can be displayed. In QTDS as Ne Zha, being Sun Wu Kong's close friend, Ne Zha would jump to his aid whenever Wu Ko- ng is in trouble. In 'SILWY' which will be air tod- ay, Jimmy is a sport athlete, meeting Tae, Wall- ace, Zheng An Lun unexpectedly on the beach. In 'LXF', Jimmy is a highly-skilled swordsman, acting alongside with Tao Hong and Theresa Lee. With three serials airing soon after another, at the start of this summer vacation, Jimmy had been very busy, having many promotional activi- ties to attend. On 6th August, the other cast of 'LXF' will arrive in Taiwan. Actually, Jimmy want- ed to bring them around, however with his tight schedule, he is unable to do so. He said, "Wh- en filming, Christopher Lee and I got along esp- ecially well, often chat with each other, this time when he's coming to Taiwan, I'm not able to find the time to accompany him around, so we could only see each other during the promotional act- ivities, it's quite a pity." 'LXF' was filmed 2 years ago, and acted along with Tao Hong, Christopher Lee, Fang Jiwei, Max Mok, etc. He said, "Although all the artistes come from different countries, everyone gets al- ong very well, the filming atmosphere was very good." In the series, Jimmy had to do lots of stu- nts and action moves. He said, "The director wants everything to be perfect, so we usually do the stunts ourselves, rarely uses the stuntmen." This later half of the year, Jimmy is going to put all his time into the new serial 'Tian Long Ba Bu'. With many like Tang Zhen Ye, Benny Chan who had protrayed the role of Duan Yu, Jimmy said, "Duan Yu's personality is quite similar to mine, determined, righteous, and a bit silly, I'll make myself feel relax in portraying the role, not giving myself too much pressure." | ETTV 'Lu Xiao Feng', sche- duled to air on 8th August, had got Jimmy, Tao Hong and Fang Jiwei to talk abo- ut their experiences in film- ing this show. However, th- e other lead actor, Christo- pher Lee was unable to make it to Taipei at the la- st minute. Jimmy explain- ed, "It's because of some problems with his work permit and Singapore is strict about that, so he wa- sn't able to come and join us. It's really a pity as Chri- stopher and I got along ve- ry well when we were wor- king together." Jimmy's deepest impress- ion of the serial was filmin- g a bathing scene at -8 d- egrees C and the director even rubbed wine on his body to keep him warm. Jimmy expressed that he's most afraid of cold. Usual- ly when filming, he would put on 3 layers of clothes, and even put lots of 'warm pouches' on him, thus that bathing scene had almost freezed him to death. Not just this, everytime when he sees Tao Hong, he wo- uld get a slap from her and it's for real! He said laughingly, "In total, I'd got 7 slaps from her and the director requested them to be done real. Thus, after filming, I wonder if the left side of my face is swollen." | ng process. The filming of LXF was do- ne during winter and all th- e artistes had to work un- der such cold conditions. To prevent water vapour fr- om evolving when they sp- eak, they even had to drink ice water, and worst were the bathing scenes. Jim- my and Tao Hong shared the same views, saying, "Every artiste in this show had to bathe, only Fang Ji- wei is the luckiest, sword- swomen don't need to bat- he." But Fang Jiwei rebutt- ed, "But I had to act amo- ng a pile of faeces!" This is because the bamboo forest was used by the pe- ople in China to relieve themselves, and Fang Ji- wei could only tolerate the smell and continue acting. Jimmy had 2 other serials showing at the same time, with 3 shows competing with himself. He said, "Ho- pe the results of these 3 shows will be good, as the direction of the role I'm portraying in them are tota- lly different, all very interes- ting." Since today is Fathe- r's Day, he added, "On this day, tuning to ETTV 'LXF' would be the best father's day gift." As Valentine's day is also round the corn- er, this raised concern ab- out the relationship betwe- en Jimmy and his rumou- red girlfriend. He said that currently, he wants to concentrate on his work fi- rst, especially since he would be filming a new serial at the end of this month, there would definit- ely be no time to talk about relationships, but he discl- osed that in future, if he and Ruby are really togeth- er, both of them should be willing to disclose, so ho- pe that everyone would st- op guessing. Jimmy would be involve with the serial 'Tian Long Ba Bu' and currently, there are 3 mainland actresses competing for the role of Wang Yu Yan. | For the promotional activities of ETTV 'Lu Xiao Feng',Tao Hong and Fang Jiwei woke early and joined Jim- my to Long Tan Circ- uit to try Go-carting, and help 'speed LXF towards top ratings'. When trying out the cars, Jimmy drove one that was able to reach 150 miles/h and only 3 seco- nds to travel 100m. When the instructor was doing the explanation, Jimmy had started to feel the itch, and when trying them out, he even charged up a hill at five or six 180 degrees sha- rp bends, giving Tao Hong a shock. Fortunately, Jimmy managed to apply his brakes and nothi- ng happened. After he alighted, he was perspi- ring from top to bottom, saying that driving that car was tough, feels like the body was being th-rown forward. When it was Tao Hong and Fang Jiwei's turn to try out the cars, they refused to let Jimmy to dri- ve with them as his driving was too scary. How- ever, as they were quite wary, a circuit which can be completed within 30 seconds, but they took 5 minutes to do so. Jimmy kept laughing at them, saying that they're like doing a 'tortoise race, competing who's the slowest'. In the afternoon, the 3 of them headed for Bei Tou for the hot springs. Along the way, it beg- an to rain hea- vily, and they jo- ked that since they're suppose to get wet, why worry about the rain. Though that's what they said, but when the sky had cleared, Tao Hong was the only one who went into the water. Fang Jiwei explained that she's 'not convenient' to go into the water and Jimmy joked that he's not convenient too. | Jimmy who went to Jiu Fen for the first time, pick- ed up a flute with the sha- pe of a bull and started bl- owing. He even bought it home to practise and say- ing to Tao Hong and Fang Jiwei, who were beside hi- m, "The next time we me- et, we'll arrange a 'flute ga- thering'." For the promotion of 'LXF', Tao Hong arrived in Tai- wan, and with Jimmy and Fang Jiwei fulfilling their duty as her tour guide, th- ey specially brought her around Bi Sha Harbour and Jiu Fen. Wherever th- ey went, they attracted the attention of many visitors who approached them for autographs and taking ph- otos. Being easy going, th- ey agreed to all their requ- ests and the fans were ab- solutely thrilled. When Jimmy arrived in Bi Sha harbour, his populari- ty was amazing. | oto with Jim- my when she was five. After 8 years and meeting Jimmy again, this little fan was very excited but al- so very shy and said, "Jimmy is still very hand- some, he hasn't chang-ed." Tao Hong was very excited when visiting the area and bought lots of items which are not available in China. However, we realised that Jimmy seemed more exci- ted than Tao Hong and upon asking, we found out that this is the first time Jimmy had ever been to Jiu Fen. He said, "Usually there is no time to go out sightseeing, so after looki- ng around the old streets of Jiu Fen, the feeling is great!" When leaving the area, be- fore going up the car, there was a young boy nearby who had got lost. Jimmy, who loves kids, immediately went up to him. However, the little boy |

| began to cry louder and louder. Finally, under Jim- my's comfort and at the same time, getting help from the police, the little boy eventually found his father. After ending the Jiu Fen trip, Jimmy also 'said goodbye' to Tao Hong and Fang Jiwei, and took a night flight to Hong Kong to work on a commercial for a high-tech electronic item which offered him an 8-digit price. After that, he'll return to Taiwan to fi- lm 'SILWY'. On 21st Augu- st, he'll head for Beijing to film 'TLBB'. He said, "The schedule for the second half of this year, I've given them all to 'TLBB'." | Jimmy Being 'Booked' With An 8-digit Fee |
| Yesterday, during the promotional trip to Jiu Fen, Jimmy suddenly told Tao Hong and Fang Jiwei, "I'll have to go to Hong Kong tomorrow, so I won't be able to accompany you both, because I'm being 'booked'." Jimmy disclosed that his 'booking fees' is a price of 8-digits sum, say- ing jokingly, "I'm being booked by a technological company, being their spokesperson for their items, and within the following one year, I can- not accept any similar type of com- mercials." | Having to film in the freezing cold winter in Su zhou and Wuxi, the temperature could even drop to -8 degrees C. Tao Hong found the weather intolerable, however, Fang Jiwei and her found great comfort from Jimmy's soup during the filming period. Jimmy even set up a small kitchen in his ro- om. Tao Hong and Fang Jiwei said that Jim- my knows how to cook 'green beans soup' and would share it with everyone. Other than that, he also knows how to prepare tonic soup, and providing it for everyone to drink after a hard day of work, and it was said to ta- ste good too, winning for himself complime-nts from the crew. | Jimmy 'Advertise' For A Wife On Valentines' Day |
| For this Valentines' day of the lunar calendar, to Jimmy who hasn't a part- ner, it's difficult for him to maintain a long relationship since he had to wo- rk overseas often, with no definite lo- cation. But he is also looking forward to the feeling of closeness. During th- is day, he made his love declaration, expressing, "Hope that if I find a girl- friend now, she's no longer just a gi- rlfriend, but will be my wife." Having experienced a few relationsh- ips in the past, he sighed, saying th- at he likes the feeling of staying clo- se together everyday and do not like to depend on phonecalls or email to keep in contact. However, he had to go overseas often and it would be dif- ficult to maintain a relationship this way. As he wouldn't be in Taiwan for the next half of this year, he would rather choose to remain single, so as not to feel tied down. Now, his viewpoint towards love is different from the past. |
| Before he's leaving to film 'TLBB', he had a role to play in 'SILWY'. Yesterday, Jimmy was filming a scene where he is the owner of a holiday resort, but app- ear as a worker to play a trick on magazine reporters, Zheng An Lun and Hu Pei Xin. One time, he's a bar- tender at the counter, another time, he's a worker sweeping the floor. When the 2 girls were going to intervi- ew him, and seeing th- is boss sleeping acro- ss the table, they trick- ed him by shouting, "Fire!". In the end, Jim- my awoke in shock, and grabbed a pail of water, splashing it on them So as to let the girls get over with it fast with just one take, the 3 of them rehearsed many times. When eventual- ly, although Jimmy had splashed beautifully, there wasn't enough water in the pail. The director then filled it to the brim and being pl- ayful, Jimmy almost splashed on the 'inno- cents'. His amusing act even brought about never-ending laugh- ters from the curious children watching nea- rby. In the show, Jimmy is acting as a successor of a big enterprise, and also a faithful lover. |
| As his fiancee, whom he is going to marry very soon, was killed in an air crash, caused him great distraught and decided to move to the beach to tend his family holiday res- ort business. He even wrote 'letter in a bottle' to his girlfriend every- day. But fate brought him to meet reporter, Zheng An Lun, who lo- oks exactly like his late girlriend, thus develop- ing an interesting story. During filming breaks, Jimmy began to enter- tain everyone, perform- ing a magic trick. He said, "This would sure- ly be more exciting than David Copper- field." Seeing him pic- king up a comb, pen, etc, sticking them on his hand. They would- n't fall no matter how hard he shaked his hand, and everyone was amazed. | He disclosed his 4 criteria in a girlfriend: fili- al, able to understand his job, trust him total- ly and finally, comfortable to look at. Most of all, he hopes his girlfriend would become his future wife. Jimmy spent this Valentines' day doing com- mercial work. Asking how he had spent his Valentines' day in the past, during his school days, he would receive loads of gifts on this day. He said, "I remember when I was in sec- ondary school, I was very passive in charact- er and rejected all the gifts." However, amus- ingly, he had also ever tried the old fashion tradition of giving flowers and cake, but creat- ively, he put the gift in the car boot and once it's open, even the candles were already lit. Jimmy felt that an 'unexpected surprise' is always the best gift. Since he's too busy with work, in order not to neglect his girlfriend, currently, he still don't have the plans of finding one yet. He said, "I don't believe in long-distance relationship which won't last, moreover, having a girl- friend now would distract me in my work. Just the thought of working in China for half a year, I won't have the thought of getting a girl- friend." But for his life in future, he had alre- ady planned it well, saying, "After I've stablis- ed my side-lines, it would be time for me to find a wife." Since he likes children, he hopes to have a boy and a girl in future. He said, "I would surely spoil the kids, giving in to all their requests." |

| Jimmy and Tae are both under 'Xia Family' and lo- ok alike, thus there had been rumours that Tae was trying to take over Ji- mmy's first place in Xia Family and both are on bad terms with each oth- er. In Xia's recent product- ion, 'SILWY' with Tae and Wallace Cheung leading , Jimmy, Jolin Tsai and Nicholas Tse guest-star- ring, thus dissolving the rumour that they don't get along. Tae seriously denied that they are on bad terms, and Jimmy also expressed that Tae is just like a brother to him, both of them have their own route to go, de- finitely impossible to be on bad terms. | Comparing with the yout- hful and boyish stage wh- en singing 'Rainy Season Of 17', Jimmy is a mature man now. Yesterday, he had appeared for the pre- ss conference and with his long hair, he had ev- en dyed it a trendy gold colour, and quite resemb- les 'Dao Ming Si' in F4. A reporter asked jokingly, "Going back to young id- ols path again?" Jimmy shaked his hands and re- plied seriously, "This is p- repared for 'Duan Yu'. For this serial, I've rejected 3 idol dramas." With his po- rtrayal of 'Xiao Yuer' in JD- SJ, this had helped him to win the role of 'Duan Yu' but it has also added some pressure on him. Since both roles are play- ful, kind, highly skilled an- d popular with the girls. Towards this, Jimmy lau- ghed and said,"Xiao Yuer is uncultured, naughty, whereas Duan Yu is very scholarly and very kind.
