| Jimmy's popularity is 'hotter' th- an the sun in Hainan Island. Last month, he just went there to film a TV commercial for a sun- block lotion, but a few days ago, he was called back urgently to shoot a magazine commercial for the product. Jimmy, who lo- ves outdoor activities, upon hea- ring the news that he's needed back for the shooting by the bea- ch, immediately declared that no matter how tired, he still wants to head for sunny Hainan Island. Thus, he had to take a few days off from his filming. When he arrived on the relaxing island, he didn't forget to bring along his diving equipment and had planned for a suntan too. The crew members said that he rea- lly knows how to enjoy himself while he's working. Not only does he enjoy great po- pularity in China, the product's company had even conducted a survey and found that Jimmy is the best spokesperson. Because this is a commercial of the summer season which cost a great fee to film, it will be widely broadcasted in China. Even the company's CEO is the- re to lead the team. While film- ing, all the workers are very ser- ious with their work, only Jimmy is in a holiday mood and took many photos for the workers wi- th his digital camera which help- ed them relieve their stressful mood. In order to allow Jimmy to rest after his tiring journey from Sha- nghai to Hainan Island, the dire- ctor shifted the time of filming to the afternoon. But no one expec- ted Jimmy to be so full of energy. |
| Once he heard that his morning is free, he immediately set up his beach chair by the seaside, hop- ing to get himself a copper tone tan so as to look MAN. But once he lay down on the chair, his assi- stant immediately brought over a beach umbrella for fear that if he gets himself too tan, his complex- ion may not link in the drama. Yesterday, he had return back to Taiwan to prepare for his car race which is held today. After that, he'll fly to America for the anti-drug co- mmercial, and after this, he will return back to Shanghai to contin- ue filming. Due to his busy sched- ule, his father and manager are worried that it may affect his heal- th, thus they had instructed his assistant to prepare chicken soup for him. Every night, his manager make it a must for him to drink a bowl of chicken soup or supper before he can go to bed. (10/3/2001) |

| During Ruby's new album press conference, when she was asked if her singing has improved, she smiled and said, "After Jimmy saw my MTV, he said that there's improvement in my singing. After she said this, she immediately turned shy and said, "No lah, I mean Alec." After she brought up about Jimmy, she seems like she do- esn't know what she's talking about and in the end, pulled good friend, Alec Su into the picture. Although she said it in a slip of her tongue, people still can't help thinking, 'Bet- ween Jimmy and Ruby, is there any signs of them being together again? Jimmy and Ruby's relationship started 5 years ago when they were filming "School Days". At that time, Ruby just started as a commercial model and Jimmy was a popular pop idol. Due to their different status, they went through a lot of problems in this relationship. About her 'ex-relation- ship' with Jimmy, this is the only love life she is willing to admit. As for rumours saying that Ruby and Alec are a couple, she would immediately clarify, "Because we often work together, we are able to talk about anything. I think because we know each other too well, so it's impossible for us to strike a spark. Please do not misunderstand." After her relationship with Jimmy, her love life has been empty for some time. Even though she ever said that she wants to fall in love, she has no lack of suitors but she doesn't seem to show any interest in them. Perhaps, her past relationship with Jimmy has been deeply imprinted in her heart, which she can never forget. She had mentioned to the media more than once that her past with Jimmy was a 'beautiful mistake'. She added that for these past few years, both of them maintain as 'unclose' friends. Even the number of phone calls doesn't exceed 3 times a year. Moreover, they do not deliberately meet up with each other. Though this may be true, but in her recent press conferen- ce, Ruby unwarily brought up Jimmy which caused others to guess, had they reconciled? Or are they secretly together for 5 years? All along, their relationship experienced a lot of obstacles. Ruby who used to be a commercial star, now becomes a well known actress gives others the feeling 'because she's Jimmy Lin's girlfriend'. This unbalanced feeling may be one of the causes for their separation and reconcilation. |
| As time passes, the media has a response of 'seeing Ruby and think of Jimmy', 'seeing Jimmy and think of Ruby'. In order to reduce the amount of hurt, both of them are left with 2 choices. 1) A clean break-up. 2) Make their relation- ship 'underground'. From the 'unforgettable' way Ruby feels towards Jimmy, they seem likely to have chosen choice 2. Ruby is doing very well in her career but Jimmy hasn't lost his great popularity as when he first started. 'Little Whirl- wind' has not only sweep through the whole of China, he has even caused an uproar in Thailand. Asked about Jim- my's doings lately, his manager, Xia Yu Shun said, "Right now, he's in Shanghai filming HYNH. In this drama, he por- trays the role of a righteous reporter who sacrificed for his country in the end." Other than filming his new drama, from last year till now, he has accepted 18 commercials from TW, China, Korea and Thailand. Xia Yu Shun added that every commercial he does, he's paid 1 million RMB (China currency). Jimmy's popularity in Thailand doesn't lose out to China and TW. Xia Yu Shun said that everytime Jimmy goes to Thailand, even the Thai princess who's a fan of his would follow him where ever he goes. It seems in Thailand, 'Little Whirlwind' is a 'lady killer' of the new generation. Regarding Jimmy and Ruby's relationship, he is not as clean-cut as her as he still does not admit to this relation- ship. In addition, there are rumours that Jimmy is no longer 'single and available', and his relationship with model, Ke Jia Qing is stable. If this rumour is true, 'Double Lin Love' may turn out to be a sad ending. But no matter if their relationship has a happy for sad ending, we will stll give them our sincere blessings. (10/3/2001) |
